“You’re not wrong, Harry.”
DONE IT DELIBERATE!
Tom Cruise aka Cole Trickle, aka Maverick, did the same thing in Days of Thunder.
Been running into this from Ford dealers all over the LA area as well.
“I’m sorry but due to inventory shortages we can’t won’t send prices to an email.”
“Due to inventory shortages we know we’ll be able to rip _someone_ off, so if that someone isn’t you, pound sand.”
So much this. But...my kid still has a few years before they hit driving age, and they’ve already decided that we are going to do a project together building a Jetta with a Smyth ute kit. I can’t be mad at that choice one bit. I know they won’t be driving around with a pile of friends in the car since it will only…
The right answer is to give your kid whatever you’ve been driving, and get yourself something new. My 5-year-old already knows he’ll be driving a 21-year-old Tacoma one day and Dad will be driving something fast again. ;-)
Brand spanking new Mustang and / or Corvette for a driver with 0 experience. If they’re lucky, they smack it up. If not, they end up dead. Seen it more than once.
having grown up in a town full of rich people in the 80's (and near NYC), there were a lot of kids who got Z28s and Trans Ams on their 16th birthday (often before they even had a license). many of them were totaled before their 17th.
I grew up in the school district where Sung Myung Moon’s family lived, and his son…
Knew someone in high school who’s parents bought her a new Mercedes ML SUV when she got her licence. She totalled it in a few months, and complained when her parents replaced it with a Lexus SUV, instead of a new Mercedes. I was amazed they replaced it with anything.
I hope for any option that allows it to stay in the area, and not at the bottom of the ocean or as scrap. It’s been a landmark my whole life, and on a clear day I can see it all the way from the bluff in Huntington Beach, some 15 miles away.
How is “make it a hotel/casino” not the #1 option. You know how much money casinos make?
I have a ‘91 Yugo like yours, and my shifter knob looks nothing like that. In fact, I’ve never seen any Yugo shift knob look like that. So I’m wondering where yours came from?
I have it on good authority you better get the hell out of that quadrant before the Tholians finish their web.
It seems like you bought the worst and perhaps cheapest car ever made in the US just to have endless “quirks” and “problems” to write about. Mission accomplished.
I assume Eastern Europeans/Russians on Twitter have an alert any time someone mentions a Yugo or Trabant.
Spot on. There isn’t a whole lot that separates the Salton Sea and a manure pit.
