You guys should frontpage ttyymmnn’s ‘This Date in Aviation History’ posts from Oppo more often. He does a fantastic job of dredging up obscure aviation history and technology, which is something Flight Club probably should have be doing in addition to reporting general aviation news.

Jalopnik is the ‘mother’ blog, with Lanesplitter being a sub-blog, therefore Lanesplitter’s posts are shared on the ‘mother’ blog to draw traffic from a wider audience.

Here’s one better - I’m 26 and I never used floppy disks when they were floppy. By the time I was using computers, they were all plastic cased, so even when I was using now-obsolete technology, the terminology was out of date!

To me, this seems like a great idea. This round of upgrades allows your smartphone - constantly being updated, replaced, and improved - to be the brains behind the operation and your car simply becomes a hub or receptacle. I’d rather have every bit of integration software possible in a car, so the automakers can stop

They do that to cut down on sun glare.

The skirted wheel is pretty unique, but it also makes the rear wheel look tiny due to the extra visual mass above it.

If you’re going to make the trunk opening this small and useless, just make it a liftback.

Seconded. It looks like an NB with a few extra creases and an extra grill on the nose.

This reminds me of an NB with a bit more grill. I’m ok with this, especially if it has a turbo.

It’s like a Pokemon card!

So, when do we get a ‘What should I buy next post?’

The most interesting thing on the sales list is that the Honda CR-V is dangerously close to unseating the Accord as Honda’s top seller.

Seems like a torpedo boat - which they appear to shoot it off of - would be a good application for one. Not so much a sub, though.

You’re right that fluid could be included in general maintenance, though I was originally thinking of better fluid as an improvement, in addition to changing the fluid as part of regular maintenance. I think we’re all on the same page here - maintaining or improving one part of the brakes helps, but not as much as the

I wish it wasn’t on top of the crew cab only. I’d much rather have an extended cab.

I feel like better (or fresh, if you car is old) fluid would give better resistance to heat soak than improved pads. Note that this assumes you aren’t using crappy Chinese knockoff pads in the first place.

I love this plan except for one small detail - you won’t have to toast them, because they so readily toast themselves.

Looks like this is the end of low belt lines on Subarus. They were the last hold outs. Every other manufacturer went to bunker slits for windows except for Subaru, but I guess they’re tossing them out for more ‘aggressive’ styling and ‘improved safety’.

I don’t know what it is, but I love this. The only way it could get better would be if it had a 510-style nose (which may be what they’re going for - it’s hard to tell exactly from this angle).

Holy crap, did they section 12” out of that thing?
