I know you were making a Dale Earnhardt joke, but there’s a joke about torque steer in there too.

You need to do an Oppo post on that. I love the oddball stuff German companies offer as special orders.

...or this is a temporary deployment and it wasn’t worth the trouble to paint a bunch of complex and expensive vehicles white. On the other hand, I bet it was easy to hand out a bunch of white winter equipment to the troops to wear over their standard ACU or Multicam uniforms.

Your absurd and unfounded claim that all around reliability has been the primary reason for maintaining a 60+ year govt buying relationship with Colt is laughable and offensive.

I hoped having the top up would make it look better.

My father owned one of these (a ‘90) for about 7 years when I was in middle school and high school. It was slow (190hp TPI 305 + overdrive happy automatic + 2.73:1 rear axle), rode like a tank, flexed like mad, was poorly assembled, and the ergonomics were awful, but I’ll be damned it wasn’t really cool looking. This year has been hilarious from beginning to end, but I think this was the most entertaining escapade of all.

You’re a jerk because now I have another car to lust over, but this one is fairly close by. Close enough to test drive. And reasonably priced. And clean.

The missing centercaps are really messing with my OCD.

Original Cougars have awesome taillights, but the operation was the cool part. The design, itself, wasn’t anything special for the era. My personal favorite taillights are the red boomerangs on 1960 and some ‘61 Chryslers:

One of those with a stroked 4.0L and a 6 speed would be amazing.

So what’s the deal with the different uniforms and equipment? Is one guy police and the other military? Or different branches of the military?

Exactly. Civil wars are not conducive to security around crash sites...or any kind of security for that matter.

That’s why it failed, but maybe Honda will keep it up to date this time around. A crossover platform should be lighter and more fuel efficient than a body on frame design.

Does he drive it like he stole it and do you baby yours? Does he frequently drive it heavily loaded and you empty? Do you live in areas with similar terrain and altitude? Also, is your Ram 2WD or 4? Is it an 8 speed Torqueflite? And what’s the axle ratio?

I think this might have some potential. In my opinion, the biggest issue with the last Ridgeline was it’s ridiculous styling and 4-door-only body style. If Honda offers different cab and bed options, a lighter duty, but still midsize, truck might steal some sales from heavier duty trucks with homeowners who don’t

I might draw some sales away from the Tacoma/Frontier/Canyorado twins - smaller, lighter duty trucks that get better gas mileage than the full size trucks when running around empty or lightly loaded.

I saw an R34 in Aruba.

In only slightly better condition than the real Eagles.
