People who are still working have nothing to spend money on - no travel, no dining out, no concerts or social events, limited in person shopping. Throw in the relative windfall of federal stimulus funds, and those people are ready to buy.

As I noted above, I hate these with a passion. I remember being so excited to see one at the NYIAS when they were first released. They looked great and the reviews were positive, so I was excited to see what it was like to sit in one. Then I tried to close the door. I’m sure the rest of the car is nice, but I couldn’t…
Since everyone has been sharing good door pulls, I’m going to share my least favorite, if not of all time, then at least my least favorite in recent memory: the Jaguar XE.
I went out and bought a Focus in 2012 and I was well educated on the market. Why?
Sounds like they want a
Subaru crosstrekVolkswagen Alltrack.
They made the same mistake with the GTO, and to a lesser extent, most things they slapped the SS badge on in the mid-00s. Good to see that they learned!
Literally did that - FWD 1.4T S model with a 6 speed. The warranty wasn’t the reason why I bought it, but it has calmed some of my fears about VW’s historically terrible reliability.
At least they’re still serving a purpose rather than being turned into razor blades.
At least in 2019 you could get black or tan on regular Sportwagens and black, tan, and brown on Alltracks.
The green was worth the hunt. I get irrationally excited when I see one drive by.
Can confirm. When I bought my base model front drive GSW, the dealer said he couldn’t keep them on the lot. They had a few Alltracks and 4motion models (including manuals!), but no front drives in any trim. Between my first visit to the dealership and picking up my car two weeks later, the manual Alltrack and two…
The Transit Connect looks like a super practical little wagon/van thing. How do you like it as a passenger vehicle?
Did you get the brown interior? That would be the perfect spec.
This is my first manual in 8 or 9 years. It’s nice to be back to rowing my own.
Thank you! I really wanted a blue one, but Silver White is a nice enough color.
Hey now, I bought one in May and it’s a stick. I tried, dammit.
Especially when Wall Street beats you up if your quarterly reports aren’t glowing. Large scale, long term investment, even when it’s well thought out, are discouraged by the stock market.
You could just learn how to adjust your mirrors properly.
Cars with terrible visibility are the reasonable exception. That being said, not being able to see out of a car in >current year is a huge problem.
