Rogue Squadron and Rogue Squadron 2: Rogue Leader were great. Rogue Squadron 3 kind of lost the plot, but the first two were great.

If you played Rogue Squadron 2 or 3, and loaded it with homing cluster missiles you would.

Aww, yes, someone still cares about the Expanded Universe.

Worth it.

What is this? I looks like a Jaguar, but it's hard to tell.

The answer is always Miata.

I didn't know Mitsubishi sold enough cars to generate CPO inventory. TIL.

Does the Patriot engage in the terminal phase, or is it a mid-transit system as well? There have been so many BMD systems over the years, and they've been cancelled, revived, and modified so much over the years that I can't keep track of them all.

It probably has to do with the interceptor missile, radar location, and the intended interception point of the ICBM by the interceptor. Intercepting an ICBM is really, really hard, especially in the launch phase. I think the US anti-ballistic missile defense system is designed to hit the missile during the middle of

There's a Tavarish joke in there somewhere.

Because Kinja?

Maybe because it was strapped onto an airplane rather than in it?

I love these things. They look like a relic of the future (TM) that never actually came to be, and the Romanians keep them pretty clean and well maintained. I hope there are plenty of photo ops before they're retired, because I need more MIG-21s in my desktop wallpaper rotation.

I present the Boeing YAL-1 - a giant airborne laser for shooting down enemy ICBMs as they launched. Whoever thought that that was a practical mission profile totally nuts. The only thing more crazy is that they actually pulled it off.

I came to post this. Close air support isn't 'flying artillery' until it's actually an airborne howitzer.

"One of the teams transmissions developed a leak. Obviously rebuilding the transmission in the middle of a 3000 mile race was not an option, so the team emptied the windshield washer bottle, refilled it with transmission fluid, and re-routed the hose leading to the washer heads down the transmission dipstick tube.

That looks like the least comfortable watch imaginable. I don't know how the pistol/cylinder combo won't dig into your arm uncomfortably.

I think FIAT is relying on American sales of Alfas to keep the brand viable. At Alfa's current sales rate, designing, building, and selling a whole model range is hard to justify. If they can boost their sales numbers by expanding into the US market, continuing investment in the brand makes sense.
