For sure Sony isn’t an innocent victim, but there’s absolutely a difference between exclusivity for Spider-Man, a game built from scratch for Sony, vs. buying something like Elder Scrolls, an existing game franchise that’s been multi-platform for ages at this point.

4K output is an absolute minimum that Nintendo needs to include in the next Switch. Even a Raspberry Pi can output at 4K. Hell, the current Switch would be capable of it if the firmware supported that technical output. Likewise, it doesn’t mean much if Nintendo says their next game will be 4K capable.

Agreed. The hype cycle around trailers and leaks is also important, which isn’t possible through pure-streaming the same way it was pre-pandemic. The big films that have released exclusively on streaming the past year (WW84, Soul...) have felt so disposable compared to blockbusters released pre-pandemic.
