I got a Volvo a few years ago and I’m extremely happy that disabling the ASS is persistent across trips. My manual says you have to disable the ASS each time you start the car, but for some reason I only have to do it once, then it stays off unless I turn it on again.

Volvo has an interesting take on push button start. Their cars have a small knob you twist partway clockwise, then let go and it resets to its resting position. It’s basically the same motion as turning a key to start.

Wait, so Apple is compelling Valve to divulge information on its PC business? That’s insane to me. I get that Valve/Steam is the most direct comparable to Epic’s Game Store, but Valve isn’t a party to the lawsuit. They shouldn’t be compelled to spend time and money to produce data for Apple’s defense.

It’s crazy to not work out the potential terms before walking into a dealership (unless you’re just there to test drive). Dealers that won’t negotiate over email (or at least detail their offer through email) should immediately go into your trash.

Not detained per se, but the last time I bought (well, leased) a car in 2019 it took forever for them to finish the detailing before I could drive off. After completing the paperwork, I fucked off to a Starbucks for 90 min or so, then came back and sat in the lobby for a few hours. They said it would only take an hour.
