You have no idea how a VC (or PE) fund is structured. A VC fund like YC is a collection of external investors (called LPs) that pool their capital into a single fund entity. The LPs “commit” a set amount of capital, so that the total fund size is $X. The GP (the VC firm itself) makes up 1-2% of $X.
