There are a lot of reasons why someone may be forced by necessity to grab a cheeseburger at McDonalds. Access, time, money. Food deserts are a thing.
Some people don't have a lot of options. Same for shopping at Walmart. In some places, there isn't a whole lot you can do.

It gets way better! I didn't like the first season—I thought it was dull, awkward, and too episodic. But, since, I've found it wildly addictive. And, just for the record, by "better," I mean it gets more exciting and more, um, scandalous, ahem. I do not mean "better" in the sense of "approaching A-class TV." …
It gets better, if you take into consideration that it's basically a soap opera set in the world of D.C. politics, and view it accordingly. But recently it's started to get worse - way too over the top, in my opinion. I've stopped watching.
Yeah, that's the explanation you get in East Asia for sure. I know it's classist in nature, too.
