Well, it’s critical to the thought that was expressed.

Ooh, do I get to be the first to point out that the “what does a British owl sound like?” joke is a callback to last season, when Ted kept trying to tell it but Coach Beard kept blowing him off?

I would have liked some attempt at explaining why a restaurant would refuse to allow someone to reserve the front table. I can make up some ideas, ranging from racism (in a Greek restaurant?) to wanting to always hold it open for a really great-looking party (although I don’t buy that either), but come on, give us some

Now playing

I remember both the show and the episode. Ross loved that show.

(googling ‘oppobrium’ and delighted for a new word to use at my long-suffering friends and family)

So Judhead’s disappearance is somehow going to be linked to his grandfather’s disappearance and the prep school I wager. Turns out grandpa didn’t just ‘go out for a pack of smokes’ and decide not to return - at least given how Riverdale usually works.

I know. Still don’t like the look of it.

Like he’d hang with those nerds

I do; in fact, I’ll go a step further and say I like it more than its novel (the film is a lot more deft with the heavy slice-of-life relationship stuff that makes up a bulk of the material than JK was with the text). It’s constantly entertaining and hilarious, has series-best performances from most of its principal

Netflix’s practices aside, isn’t it victory enough we got two seasons of a weird and experimental show like that? The show is not a failure because it was cancelled, it was cool that the original season was made in the first place and that they got to revisit it one more time. I can’t imagine we’d get anything but

Might it be worth mentioning that shows probably kinda should be axed after a couple seasons, even if those seasons were pretty damned good? I’ve always been a big fan of TV series having planned endings, so they can go out with a bang, rather than with a whimper. There is nothing sadder than a show that gets axed

I forgot this was the internet so every time I write anything ever I should front-load my comment with seven apologetic paragraphs contextualizing my point of view so that people who wanted to lazily do a bad faith reading of what I had to say would have to work a little at it. Let’s pretend I already did the

Allow me to pedantically pull my pants down, and show that some people are, indeed, hung.

What was up with the blurry depth-of-field effect in this episode? I guess it was meant to indicate when things were all magicky, but I found it incredibly distracting since it was almost constant. Is that going to be a thing for the rest of the season? Because if so I'm not sure I can watch it.

That mention of Sabrina’s parents dying in a plane crash, near the point in the episode where we learn her father was especially powerful, had me going full Hagrid. “How could a car crash kill Lily and James Potter?”

I find it really hard to invest in a show where the antagonist and protagonist are as dull as Hiram and Archie, even if the supporting cast are awesome. Odds are they’ll hit it out of the park again once every 4 episodes or so this season, which is just enough to string me along swearing I’m not going to commit to

Not gonna lie, this 90s teen right here thought he was cute AF.

Available November 5:

This is an excellent summary of the issues with Karen. It’s actually a pretty big shame as I think the character has a lot of interesting aspects to her, but all the examination feels superficial as the show also wants it to be clear that Karen Page is superawesome. Because of that, nothing with the character truly

I definitely understand the frustration and disappointment with the finale.
