I remember the day I found out (as an Indian) that the word has a Sanskrit root (Jagannath). Mind blown.

I’m currently about 60% into the Adam Sims version, and really enjoying his performance. Haven’t heard the other narrator!

That’s precisely why I started using audiobooks, and now it’s gotten to the point where I go hunting for chores so I can get some more listening in, because doing just one thing at a time (like sitting in one place and reading) feels like a waste.

Jumping in here to recommend the audiobook, if you’re into that medium. The narrator is terrific.

It’s a fun enough movie if being reminded of the pandemic doesn’t bother you, and if you like the lead actors enough (because there’s a LOT of them). Some of it is a bit overwrought, but it’s no worse than other movies that focus exclusively on a limited number of characters in one or two locations. I actually think

Posted to the wrong place; please ignore.

She seems pretty awesome too - a lot of people who understand Korean said that her translation was very elegant and that she was putting some real flair to what Bong was saying.

Why cast someone as Chani for this part, then?

He looks like a live-action Barry from Archer.

100%. They didn’t throw in that small detail for no reason.

Wednesday is the older sibling in this movie. The opening credits take you through the family’s history in painting form, and those show that she’s at least 3 to 4 years older than Pugsley.

Yes, that’s Jason’s embalmed, preserved body.

Their prop continuity is pretty damn good, honestly. Jughead still has the scar from when Penny Peabody cut off his Serpent tattoo in S2.

Nana Rose was sitting in her wheelchair beside Cheryl, holding the other twin.

You’re right, my bad. Makes it, like, 10% better?

The way she talks about it in interviews, I think Deborah Ann Woll sees Karen as a flawed character, stubborn to the point of stupidity, sometimes short-sighted and possibly even hypocritical, but the show won’t really let Karen be any of that, which is frustrating. The writers keep pushing the character into

While I appreciate the season’s brisk pacing, I just don’t buy Dex’s rapid escalation to full-blown Fisk ally. First off, do they not do background checks before they hand out FBI badges to people? Apart from the murder of his coach when he was a kid, Dex seems to be generally more unstable than someone whose work

I’ve been catching up on Jessica Jones S2, and “You’re my best friend, jackass” is pretty much the summation of the Jessica/Trish relationship too.

Now that Netflix is a global thing, can actors/directors/whoever put a little more care into making sure that when actors speak foreign languages, that they do it believably? This stuff is being watched around the world now. Several of us are gonna know if two characters speak Hindi like they’ve learnt the lines

I was so amused by the idea of Matt using a Neti Pot that I paused the video to text my friend about it. Of course, that just meant I was even less prepared for the blood-spatter that followed when I resumed watching. WHY. Even Fisk bashing someone’s head in with a car door didn’t make me so queasy.
