I write audio description for a living, so it’s nice to see my line of work getting attention! So many people I know haven’t even heard of this feature, although most of them have Netflix and/or Amazon Prime and have probably seen the option pop up. It’s honestly the best job - like someone took my personal interests

I was replying to OP about why people might “talk smack about their famous exes”. In this particular case, Chloe Dykstra’s motive seems to be slightly different - based on the article, she wants closure, and she wants to raise awareness and let people know this happens more commonly than they think.

She says she’s doing this for closure. You don’t have to believe it’s going to help her, but if she thinks it will, she’s allowed to give it a go. Also, if your ex was famous for their cheerful, exuberant personality, but you knew they had a darker, potentially dangerous side, and you knew your ex might come in

Why not actually read her article to see what she has to say about this exact thing?

Because this kind of behaviour usually intensifies if not checked, and these famous people interact with a lot of women, so those who work with him (or date him, but in this case he’s married, so it’s a different situation) deserve to be suitably warned.

My way of getting some mindful, non-screen time is to join classes, where I can work out with a trainer and other people. If I’m doing stuff by myself in the gym, though, I absolutely need the distraction. This is not just a gym thing; I tend to multitask (with audiobooks or music or shows) with most mundane chores,

But watching Legion for coherent story is like eating cookies for vitamins — missing point entirely.

Ugh, can I not edit on Kinja? My second paragraph was referring to this section of your comment: “But a film like Mudbound can have just as much impact watching it in a bedroom as getting to see it in theaters.” I don’t know why it got eaten up, sorry!

Yeah, shouldn’t the criteria be more about distinguishing TV from movies, than about how they are released? Then all movies become eligible for the Oscars, and all television episodes for the Emmys. It feels far more straightforward to do it that way.

Agreed. Does a simultaneous release in theatres and on Netflix hurt the movie financially, though? Because if not, I don’t see anything wrong with doing it both ways, and letting the public decide what medium they can and/or want to use to watch it.

Does Netflix itself have an exhaustive list of what’s coming and going every month that these articles take their info from? I only ask because most of the lists on the pop-culture websites tend to be US-specific, and I’d like to know if I can find one for my region too.

The suggestion algorithm on most streaming platforms is not great, so it’s a pain in the ass to find stuff to watch if you don’t know exactly what you’re looking for. I’m sure Netflix’s moving to a ‘thumbs up/thumbs down’ rating system has not helped matters at all. The most I can suggest is using the genre categories

I was actually confused by that. The guy who flat-out refused to give up Renegade - Blaine and Don E got loose lips from that brain? What?

Wait, new leads? Does this mean Peter and Sam are not coming back? They were my favourite part of the first season! I was genuinely emotionally invested in their friendship.

I’m surprised they’re going with the lawsuit angle, re: Jordan scratching a human while on duty. Wasn’t Chase the one showing Blaine his new guillotine in the first episode, meant as punishment for exactly this kind of crime? Is he making an exception because Jordan is his employee?

I’m with you there. That denim jacket and those wire-rimmed glasses!

It also seemed like the bigger source of their problem didn’t get any development. Liv obviously has an issue with Major choosing to stay with Fillmore Graves, knowing what they did, and there’s a seed of an interesting idea there, because it explores the ideas of “good zombies” from two different perspectives. But it

This is my main issue what is otherwise a wonderful, thoughtful show, that the writers fell too in love with Liv getting to do a different cosplay every week. I mean, the main conceit is that she consumes the brains of the deceased to get flashes of their lives, right? That happened just once this episode. I know the

Because I can’t NOT be that person, it’s weans, not weens.

But these are zombies who specifically went to church to redeem themselves! They must feel some sort of shame or guilt. Are we to believe they folded that quickly? None of them even seemed that shocked at the pastor getting killed.
