This is what I tell everyone. We immigrated here in the 1980s and received “green cards” with no expiration dates. They’re still valid so I have a few extended family members that are still permanent residents that don’t see a particular benefit to getting their U.S. citizenship.

I had heard that there was an uptick in

Virginia is a purple state. Due to the economy of the DC metro area, Northern VA (including Reston VA) is very, very blue. While all the senators/governors are Democratic, the state offices are mostly Republican.

At least they are clearly marked (the handbags at least). Any factory only items have a “F” in the style name inside of the bag. They occasionally have retail items in their outlet stores. It’s usually a one off and clearly marked (the price tag actually lists the retail price instead of a “compare to $x.”

There are separate Kate Spade retail and outlet lines. Companies handle their two lines differently (outlet items are either cheaper copies of the retail item or the outlet items never even existed in the retail line).

For the most part, when you see Kate Spade in either their outlet stores or discount stores

It was nice to see how some of the issues (eminent domain, weather/nature, etc).

It was sad to see that two(?) of the families were still not able to get payout from the land they sold (involuntarily?) to the government.

Congrats! That’s great. Unfortunately the process seems to get much harder and more expensive as time goes on.

Unfortunately, there are a lot of shady immigration lawyers out there. The whole process is complicated and a gamble, but there are enough lawyers out there that will take your money (the whole process can

Honestly, I think the poster is primarily talking about immediate family members (spouse, parents, or minor children). They are relatively easy and quick (the 1-3 years sounds right). But non-immediate family members (siblings, adult children, married adult children, etc) are much, much longer.

I had thought there

You can only become a naturalized citizen if you are a permanent resident.

If you are talking about sponsoring family members for permanent residency, this can take a long time if you are not an immediate family member. It can take 10+ years for non-immediate family members (like your adult sibling).

Many people don’t understand how insurance works. They don’t get that you have to have healthy people paying into the system if you want to keep prices down.

There were/are a substantial amount of people who did not know that the ACA and Obamacare were the same exact thing.

I don’t know about this current plan, but the previous dumpster of a plan was to have the pre-existing people in a separate high risk pool. So yeah, they’d have insurance, but it would be super expensive.

So I did a quick google image search and it looks like all American Girl dolls with visible teeth have the same type of teeth (two).

Halmoni is the Korean word for grandmother, I believe. (Korean words spelled in English isn’t always consistent or makes sense.)

Yes, turn them into non-profits. This way, if the church actually puts their “profit” right back into charitable works, they won’t have to pay tax. Anyone should be able to see their tax returns to see what they spend on things every year.

Unfortunately this is true. I have heard comments (from male colleagues a majority of the time) about maternity leave. They think it’s a “vacation.” I’ve even had sly comments directed at me (never been pregnant or married but am in that age range).

Yes, it’s a pain to re-direct work to other employees. But we live in

It seems like the Garden Inns are generally newer properties. There’s a mix of new and old properties within the Hampton Inn brand. For non-gold/platinum members, the breakfast is not included in the Garden Inn.

I dont stay at a lot of hotels, but Ive been a Hilton rewards members for the past 5 or so years. Their consistency is what is keeping me.

A majority of the inconsistencies seem to be on how old the property is or if the property had been another brand. The higher priced Hilton hotels have a lot of older properties.

My understanding is that if a person is making around $30,000 a year, it doesn’t make sense to pay for the equivalent in childcare. Childcare costs around $2-3k a month (varies with location of course). After taxes and other costs of working (commuting, etc), childcare costs are about the same.

If you have more than 1

I don’t have particularly strong feelings either way, but I’m disappointed. I read this the other day on another site and I thought it was longer than 1 single academic year. $25k is a nice chunk of change (and better than nothing), but I wish she had extended it to four years.

If this is just the start and more will

It’s a one time scholarship of $25k for the 2017-2018 academic year. Unless she decides to continue, that’s it. (It’s a scholarship so it’s a grant that doesn’t need to be paid back.)

I’ve never used any of their hair products, but I’ve been using their body butters/lotion for a few years. It was one of the few items out there that wasn’t heavily perfumed (no fragrance, but there were EOs in it).

I recently bought a different body butter and noticed a dramatic decrease in quality. Body butters were
