I absolutely adore my potato ricer. That alone has upped my mashed potato game. I get compliments on them even though my recipe is very basic (butter/hot milk/salt).

Naomi Scott was on a Disney Channel Original Movie a few years ago that required singing. So she can do that. Also played the daughter on a one season dystopian series, Terra Nova. (I enjoyed the premise, but the execution wasn’t as good.)
Mulan too. The singing and acting voice for Mulan and Captain Shang. (Wiki is also telling me that there were different singing voices for the grandmother and Ling character.) Coincidentally, three of the singing only voices (excluding Mulan) are non-Asian. I also know that BD Wong (acting voice for Shang) can sing.
There’s a Catch-22 with this. There are absolutely people that can act/sing/dance, but they might not be well known. Popular actors may not be able to sing/dance.
I don’t know if a well-known actor is needed for a live-action version of a very popular Disney film.
I’m opposed to using separate singing voices in general.…
There’s a process for a foreigner to obtain legal status through marriage to a U.S. citizen. There is an application, fees, and interviews. Unfortunately since he entered the U.S. without a legal status (and assume could never obtain some sort of legal status), marriage to a U.S. citizen did not automatically allow…
Legal status in this case meant some sort of step to permanent residency. Citizenship in U.S. Immigration means a U.S. Citizen. Most permanent residents (“green card” holders) must wait a period of 5 years before they can apply for U.S. Naturalization/Citizenship.
So I was very curious. Apparently, they are back together minus Ashley. Back when they were a thing, I’m pretty sure he was the most popular. I vaguely recall a solo career and a reality show on him and his girlfriend/wife/child.
Well, that’s obvious. There were students with similar GPAs as me, but I had more honors/AP classes and better extracurricular activities. Guess who got into better colleges? Colleges aren’t stupid.
The only thing that annoyed me in school was the local scholarship process. At the time, there were multiple local…
Some schools do not weight Honors/AP classes when calculating GPA. I do believe that more schools are calculating weighted GPAs.
Many, many years ago, I went to a high school that did not have weighted GPAs at the time. There were at least more than 2 people in my class that had a perfect 4.0 GPA. If we had calculated…
Health insurance in the U.S. is a very complex issue, pre and post ACA. Pre-ACA (in the early 2000s), my parents paid $800/month for a family of 4 for $5k catastrophic insurance. This was a $5k per incident. Every $100 doctor was paid in cash. Every $500 ER visit was paid in cash. The only time the insurance was…
Whitney had a very great, exceptional voice. It was sad to see what was happening to her.
I actually saw a showing of The Bodyguard a week or so ago on HBO. She wasn’t a horrible actor, but her voice..
The entertainment industry is weird, but it’s not so different from other industries. Sometimes, less talented people rise to the top. It could be for a number of reasons: timing, knowing the right people (*cough* nepotism *cough*), looks, etc.
What about the plastic Godzilla? Inanimate objects should not be able to run for office.
Anywhere near the Reston Town Center/Metro station should be really safe and also more expensive. Overall Northern Virginia is very safe, but there are slightly sketchier areas (where I probably wouldn’t walk alone at night but feel safe driving through).
I’ve never lived in Reston/Sterling, but I’ve lived in Fairfax…
Some of the luxury designers have cheaper lines. Does that affect the higher end line? The most prolific is probably Ralph Lauren. He has various lines from the higher end purple/black labels to the much lower Lauren by RL, etc.
Thanks. This is helpful. I think I have only read about it compared to Europe/Asia and did not realize that most of the Americas have it.
That would be a change to our constitution I think. We are one of the few nations (maybe the only developed nation) to grant birthright citizenship.
There are people who come to the U.S. to give birth and go back to their home country so their child can be a U.S. citizen. There are businesses that cater to this too.
It’s been in the news that many places (S. CA in particular) have seen a decrease in reporting of crimes. People are definitely afraid.
I thought John McCain had at least one parent that was a U.S. citizen (and followed the above rules for residency). Both McCain and Cruz were born abroad to at least one U.S. citizen parent.
I’ll be honest in not knowing if being born on U.S. military base abroad does anything for non-citizens.
The woman would have had to be a U.S. citizen and reside in the U.S. at least one year after the age of 14. A U.S. permanent resident or someone with a visa birthing a child overseas (not in the U.S.) does not make the child a U.S. citizen.
