I think a lot of older people have been tricked into believing that social security money is enough for retirement. Younger people have already been disillusioned, and we know we can’t count on social security for our retirement.

Not to mention the chair that must be really uncomfortable after 30 minutes.
I do feel responsibility for my parents. They’re not in horrible financial straights through, thankfully. They do have assets, just not a lot of liquid cash.
I’m sure they’re great quality, but they’re not 10x the quality of a $1k bag. The law of diminishing returns definitely occurs with mass produced products. Is a Hermes bag better than most/all of the $1-$2k brands? Yes. Are they actually 10x better? Absolutely not.
They have a select number of items from the “regular” store. You won’t see multiples of it, but it’ll be there. I think, in the clearance, section. It will retail for a lot more than a similar "outlet" item. There's no F in the label too (F for factory).
Generally, goods that are higher priced generally tend to be higher quality. There does seem to be a diminishing returns at every higher price point. It's worth it to buy a $100-$200 bag vs a $20-$50 so it will last several years instead of maybe months. I don't think a $500 bag, however, is twice the quality of a…
I actually like some of the Gap Fit/Body stuff. I have the most versatile cotton* vest/hoodie thing from there. My simple cotton underwear is pretty good (can’t find anything else that I like at that price point).
I think that’s true; I, for one, am the worst guestimater. But there’s also camera angles and perspective.
Absolutely! I think it leaves a lasting impact for children who spends a significant amount of time in front of the camera at an early age. I sadly followed the Gosselin gossip online for awhile, and the children were definitely affected.
There are rules set aside for child actors (that appear in movies/tv/commercials/live theater). A certain percentage must be set aside until they’re x age.
I have more fond memories of my high school one vs college. Maybe it was because I was a big fish in a small pond in high school, but I was pretty much your average student in college. Either way, I just have pictures to remember.
But why just the girls? Why not the whole freakin’ class?
That is actually very mass cult wedding like.
I guess it can be. I attended mine, but I went to a small-ish high school where I knew everyone in my graduating class. I could not have attended my college one (probably close to 800 or so people graduating) and no one would have noticed.
I had to wear white at my high school graduation. Only because it was one of the school colors and the men got to wear the darker color graduation "gown." It sucked donkeys because the ceremony was outside in June, and I searched for days to purchase a cotton white dress so I wouldn't be blazing hot under the crappy…
I remember seeing a clip of this many years ago, and I was really looking forward to it. I can’t believe it’s actually happening. I’m planning on seeing this, but I don’t want to pay full price for crappy seats (the first few months are selling out really fast).
That kitchen was really fugly. Everything about it was way too white. Keep the white countertops, but don’t match it with a white cabinets. (I think all white can look OK on a small kitchen, but this isn’t small by any means.)
I know it’s more aesthetically pleasing, but I would think that the TV mounted above the fireplace would be way too high.
You’ve been? There’s really nothing else I want to see. I guess I could visit Atlanta. It’s too hot there now, but maybe in the fall?
I do know they have sales often, but I’m not sure why I’m so hesitant. I think it’s the same way I feel about Michael Kors and Coach brands. They have gotten too popular and mainstream, like everyone has one. MbMJ is popular too, but it’s a little less conspicuous.
