Record profits mostly come from expanding player base.
Development costs really have skyrocketed. Production budgets for major AAA games regularly cross into nine figures nowadays. And marketing budgets can be just as big as production.
Yeah, none of the moves it’s using have great accuracy, and when it uses Sunny Day it doesn’t help itself in that regard, so nuking that is a viable strat. Mud Slap on Azumarill also works. Running snarl or spirit break to destroy it’s Sp.Atk so it can’t do more than tickle anyone is also a common strat with Umbreon…
Well, When I do run belly drum, I also run Shell Bell. A lot of these pokemon have SO much HP that large hits will heal you easily. At least for the charizard raid though, debuffs > self buffs as Charizard will not wipe them again after the opening scripted attack, where buffs get wiped at around 50%. To drill this…
First time around, I was like “I’ll use Palossand, this should be cake!” and it proceeded to shadowball me into oblivion. I’ve also run up against a Dragonite with Aqua Tail. I think it was a grass tera. That was unfortunate.
5* raids are lvl 75, a large jump from 4*s. Ideally be greater than that. Also, not being weak to the base > super effective against the tera. It definitely helps but it does no one any good if you keep dying to earthquake on garchomp because its tera type was water and you brought an electric type.
Also....learn to…
Honestly the timer is just too short for some of thes, and a KO is too punishing. But, the other problem is two fold. One, people don’t bring pokemon that are good against the base type, but just against the tera type, which mean the moves the base knows may utterly wreck you. Two, sometimes the pokemon have attacks…
> the time counter suddenly jump from three-quarters full to under halfway, for no reason at all.
Agree with this 100%.
Fully agree. Also Kotaku staff apparently have a completely busted version of the game. I’ve only encountered some minor frame rate drops, and some network errors when playing with friends online. The game is nowhere near as broken as Kotaku would have you believe. I feel like I’m being gaslit seeing all these…
The Overwatch thing is giving me an existential crisis. I want to be a principled person who doesn’t support things like putting heroes behind a paywall/timegate. I also badly want to play this new tank that’s coming out.
It took me like three weeks to get to the battle pass level that would have unlocked Kiriko in…
Yeah, the exams draw directly from the lessons- and often from the lesson directly before the exam. They’re… all very simple, really.
Your math is in fact wrong because the events are not independent. Ad absurdum, imagine there are only 2 days in the year and 3 people: if person A and B don’t share a birthday, person C must share a birthday with one of them. You start off well, we need to calculate the probability that 2 people don’t share a…
Dude, just say Gamefreak. You’re writing as if it was Nintendo that was updating those game and not the former. Shouldn’t you also try to get info out of them or the Pokemon company?
A negative review from Kotaku seemed like a foregone conclusion considering the coverage so far.
I agree with you. I do think Arceus was a step forward and this was a half back step, mechanically, but I’m still enjoying this game despite that and the glaring lack of technical polish. If it weren’t for the performance issues, I think this would be one of my favorite Pokemon games in recent memory.
I’m completely with you. I tried to write something similar to this but you put it into words much better than I would have. Everything I’ve read about these games on Kotaku makes it almost seem like the writers are trying to have a bad time.
I’m just so incredibly jealous you’re having this experience, because mine is just so far away from yours.
100% agree.
I never wanted to buy Scarlett/Violet. I grew SO tired of the pokemon formula that I stopped buying at Black/White. But I have a five year old obsessed with Pokemon so here we are.
I agree with your stance much more than the kotaku review. This has been one of the most fun pokemon games to me as well, even while also being the most broken.
