Except this time, AI actually has potential to be a useful technology.  NFTs/Crypto?  Not so much.

You’re right.  That was a step too far. I apologize.

You’re right.  I was out of line with that comment.

I appreciate what ya did there.

“Wow, Palestine, you’ve got world support. How did you do it??”

“ At the time of writing, the Palestinian death toll has surpassed 5,000. ”

Cyberpunk was originally 316m, RedDead was anywhere from 370m to 540m. Not sure where you’re getting your numbers and say RDR2 cost less of all things.

I don’t know what game you played but you sure as hell aren’t describing Cyberpunk 2077.

Redundancy is a specific legal term and very common in Europe.

It’s not slimy language. It’s just what it’s called in Europe. And the “consultation process” is required by law and involves negotiations before any layoffs are finalized. Please stop knee-jerkattacking things you don’t understand.

I’m torn on this. Obviously I want voice actors to be treated properly and to not be put out of work. But I also see the potential for AI generated voices to enable things that just couldn’t be feasibly done without it.

>The fact we don’t have wages adjust automatically for inflation on a yearly basis as a requirement by law is a testament to corporate greed and corruption in our legal system.

Yeah unless you were born like... Within the last 5 years where they started doing the $70 games, game prices have stayed the same or gone down on average.

games were more expensive when i was a kid. as a canadian i distinctly remember castlevania for snes being 119.99 at k mart.

No they haven’t? $60 was a typical price for a SNES game, and $70 SNES games were not uncommon. That’s $130-$140 in today’s dollars. Even if you’re counting DLC expansion passes or w/e, those editions tend to go for ~$100, which is still comparatively less.

My issue has always been the devaluing of games. Now people expect indies to come on a subscription and you hear more and more people refusing to buy games until it comes into the subscription. Companies like DEVOLVER have lost money due to GP/PS Plus releases. It was mentioned in their last quarter earnings.

He’s not saying anything about MS being a hero, and he’s not calling the retail stores bad, he’s saying that AAA publishers were overly reliant on the moat they built of dominating game sales by dominating shelf space in retail stores (which is something game companies pay for), and didn’t figure out how to keep that

If you are going to have a gun on your hip during a traffic stop, don’t then also be aggressive to the cops. He didn’t get killed just for having a gun. You also might have missed that the gun was on the floorboard, out of its holster, meaning he either unholstered his gun or had a loose gun available during the stop.

There isn’t an exclusive deal for Starfield, Bethesda is free to implement DLSS

Perfect wording of the situation Stackman.
