Hey look, Amir’s an Egyption who probably just doesn’t know what’s best for him.  He needs a civilized person to guide him.  You know, to sort of lift him out of barbarism or whatever...

I’m confused as to why Amir messaging from his bedroom is an issue. Would his words be more credible if they were sent from his office?

In that case, should it even be a matter of such fierce debate if one Black actor portrays Cleopatra after a string of white ones?

“Amir in his bedroom in Cairo wrote to me to earnestly appeal that ‘Cleopatra was Greek!’ Oh, Lawd! Why would that be a good thing to you, Amir? You’re Egyptian.”

This article is bizarre.

Why do we WANT a drip-feed of advertising that reveals half the game before it’s even out, exactly? That seems pointless. If we know we want the game, then we don’t need it and it’ll just hurt the experience. If we don’t know, then we shouldn’t be looking to advertising for that decision, we

The July launch you referenced was the actual beta period. I participated in the closed alpha, which was last May, and then the game came back in July for an open beta before launching with season one in August. They have just now decided that the game was in beta the whole time because they fucked up so bad. You

I guess my assumption is (especially with the 10 min reveal of Tears coming up) that Nintendo’s idea is that promoting the first game promotes the second without revealing anything new (and also potentially gives Nintendo more sales of BotW).

Does Nintendo realize that shovelware crap like this keeps me from even looking at the eShop because I have no desire to do their job of curating the quality from the crap?

If Goblins dont like being discriminated against, im sure there are suggestion boxes or proper forms to fill out to politely request equality from the wizards. Equality must be *asked* for, Politely and civilly, and be delivered on a timetable that is comfortable for the oppressor.

the fact that the story was designed in that way literally makes it worse though. depicting those who use violence against their oppression as ‘oh no actually they are extremists who want to oppress the rest of the people’ is like a very common way to essentially say ‘using violence to gain equality is a no-no’ in

as preached by Jowling? Sure. According to her (and her books), there are not bad systems or institutions, just bad individuals. So just put a good individual in charge of the institution and bam! Everything is good forever. That’s why Harry Potter ends up a (good?) cop.

It’s a liberal fantasy to keep the status quo?

I hope Harry Potter spent the rest of his days pondering just how much Snape wanted to fuck his mom to do what he did in the books.

Hey now, people CAN be flawed, and really just plain awful people, so long as they’re carrying an unrequited crush on the dead mother of the boy they’re being awful to.

well, considering that the HP books are the kind of trashy liberal fantasy where maintaining the status quo is the absolute goal (up to making the main protagonist a literal cop), this is just brand consistency.

Not only any character Steve from fucking Minecraft on Smash Bros god reality is so dumb

What on earth is this article? You say it’s steeped in assault allegations and then it turns out to be a throwaway line at the very end where it turns out two (2!%) of the (unnamed) contestants have allegations against them. Is that even higher than the average at all?

It has literally nothing to do with the show, or

So from the sounds of it, 2% of the show’s contestants are assholes? That hardly seems like a show that is “steeped in controversy”.

Instead, the secret point bonuses led people to feel gaslit about how difficult it was to achieve three stars on lighter characters.

unless you are being sarcastic...I can legitimately say no one has ever said that to me.
