I actually just read an article yesterday (can't remember which site, but it's one of the many, many websites covering the trailer) that mentioned that a "Book edit" of the two movies was planned.

That balloon on the mailbox in the trailer looks like it's probably the scene where Henry and Pennywise start becoming buddies…

This exactly: Curry did a very good job pulling off the most important character, and really nothing like it (that I can recall) had ever been on TV to that point. I watched the whole thing when it aired and was impressed they managed to leave in as much as they did.

There are a lot of good articles out there (usually on bittorrent related sites) about trustworthy VPN's—btguard and PIA are usually on the top of the list.

They can, unless they're really big, then they can't be jailed…or fail, or something. That's why I'm trying to hit 1000 pounds.

I think as far as early stuff goes I'd recommend The Shining as a good place to start with King. Salems Lot is also very good, if a bit more amateurish. If you like his style then there are seemingly hundreds of places to go from there. It's discussed a lot earlier in the thread but Night Shift is also a great King

The Dark Tower has some amazing moments (mostly in the middle, with books three and four being among King's best work) , but overall it kind of fell flat for me—particularly the final three books written in quick succession by a guy that lost his notes and just wanted to finish it before he was dead.

Trucks, Sometimes They Come Back, Children of the Corn, Strawberry Spring—hell, I even loved Battlegrounds as goofy as it was. They have made at least SEVEN movies from the stories in Night Shift! That really is just a classic collection.

You're right—in the "smoke hole" they see the coming of It and describe at as being a LONG time ago….prehistoric times if I remember correctly

Hulu did a well enough job with 11/22/63 to give some hope….still, some of the stories that took place in Castle Rock weren't the best.

Don't forget Insomnia. Like I always do. Because it was terrible. But there's definitely a tie-in to Derry and The Dark Tower in that one.

That is a perfect example of a movie that was just incredible and deserving of all the praise and accolades it received (particularly Michelle Williams who made quite possibly the most of five minutes than anyone ever has)—that I will NEVER watch again. It's just too devastating.

Yeah—the idea about the book that really bothered me as a kid was all these kids seeing things that no one else could see and being terrified but NOT able to do anything lest the adults around think you're crazy. The scene in this trailer of the balloon floating by in the library is a great example…

To be fair Sinister borrowed a few things from It, since most of those ideas are in the book (the pictures in particular were one of the better parts of the book). There's not a slide show in the book so that scene looks to be an incorporation of other ideas.

It Again?

Wow those are really similar….I mean, it's not such an out-there idea to think that two people couldn't have come up with it, but yeah, I could see thinking "HEY!" if I were the one that designed that…

The gang shoot out at the town square was such an oddly disquieting story that I think it stuck with me the most—-like all the flashbacks it added so much to the book and the overall sense of dread.

Yeah—the Bowers gang didn't fare too well all the way around…

I'm with you—I felt very little remorse for Hockstetter—his backstory was so disturbing he was almost as much a monster as Pennywise.

The kid getting beaten to death by his father with a hammer still bugs the living fuck out of me.
