Being a scientist (biochemistry), I can tell: 90% of experiments are "rinse and repeat", the rest is: "dunno what it does, I add it anyway", "do you think it is still working, even though it was NOT kept at -80C", and my favourite, "prof wants you to do it, so do it, it might make sense sometime".

I've got most of these in my cabinet, minus the Grappa glass. What you are lacking, however, is a variety of proper beer glasses. Pint, tulip, flute, chalice the list goes on and on. (And yeah, the wifey isnt too keen on the fact that I have more beer glasses than water glasses).
I can tell you what you DON'T do. You don't get out of it. You don't waste time for little things like sleeping, or eating. Anything you can do in the car, do in the car.
