I don’t play Animal Crossing which is how, but yes, I did forget it on the list.

To recap, the rumors for possible games for this Nintendo Direct which come from a guy with a good track record (he actually already predicted it would be February 13th a few days ago) include...

Remember when Frozen came out? A holiday movie in the middle of Spring season?

I’ll be continuing to play through the Pikmin series with Pikmin 3 and unfortunately Hey! Pikmin.

Funny enough regarding your “last fortress” comment, my biggest moment of realizing how much better I have become at video games was when I was playing through the last fortress in Super Mario World (the one that leads to the back door at Bowser’s Castle) for the first time in like 15 years. I remember that level

I guess it’s because I’m on the outside looking in since I don’t really care about this series (I watched one brother play through 1, Chain of Memories, and 2 back in the day and started watching my other brother play through 1 recently, both of us thinking it was terrible), but this all feels hollow to me given

I’ll be playing some Splatoon 2.  I also rebought Pikmin on the Wii U eShop and played through that this week, so I’ll likely be doing some of the challenge mode in that game.  Some Elite Dangerous in VR will also probably slip in there somewhere.

Having put in 42 hours in Elite Dangerous in VR over the last week and a half despite the fact 99% of the game is flying from point A to B, this article speaks to me.

I had the same problem with Super Mario Oddysey. Even though the game is good, I only associate my time with it with disappointment because of the hype around it. People I know who weren't wrapped up in that enjoyed it way more, so it goes to show how much circumstances affects our enjoyment of some games.

I just realized I’ve had a beta code for this sitting in my inbox for a week without realizing it.  I should probably hop in given it ends on the 4th.

Other than the failure to load levels, yeah, that’s pretty well how it went for me too. They do a great job of making one of my least favorite aspects in gaming (being sneaky) fun as Hell and make you feel like you’ve outsmarted someone.

I’ll be playing Elite: Dangerous in VR along with some light Splatoon 2 and maybe Overwatch sprinkled in.  I picked up Elite: Dangerous due to a sale and to me it’s one of those weird games where I play for 4 hours straight and enjoy it, but couldn’t really recommend to most people due to how monotonous it is.

How are you enjoying Hitman then? I too absolutely didn’t care about the series but then found the 2016 reboot really good.

Yeah, last time I booted up Mystery Heroes, teammates were complaining about everybody not sticking with a strategy never mind it’s impossible because you don’t know what hero you’re going to be. I legitimately think they forget what mode they’re playing half of the time.

To me as a fairly casual player who never touches competitive because of how stressful and toxic it is, I have found myself enjoying it less each time I get back into it precisely because of the crowd control mechanics. The game constantly taking control away from you gets real old real fast.

That’s actually why I like this movie. It’s essentially less a superhero movie and more a movie about an unbelievably powerful alien crash landing on Earth and nobody having any idea of how to handle that. That’s also why I disagree with the part of this review where it’s framed as a bad thing that Superman doesn’t

I still maintain Star Fox Zero was a good game and once you got used to the controls, it actually let you play better than 64.  It was just so short that by the time you got used to the controls, there was nothing left to do.

Or the classic Universal Monster Movies. Or the Star Trek Next Generation era TV shows and movies.

Hey, they made the content episodic.  I wouldn’t call you an asshole for taking advantage of that model.

It seems odd that Hitman 2's snow festival is in a Hitman 1 level and that the free trial for the game takes place on Hitman 1's final level. I mean sure you can get all of the Hitman 1 levels in 2 and it’s the only snow level but it just feels weird seeing new content on an older level. It’s still neat, though.
