As is de rigour with just about every Spielberg film, if he were to excise the last ten minutes, it’d be perfect. But no... He has to get the schmaltz in.

Truly one of the greatest films of the 90s and of all time. The Normandy sequence alone is one of the most gripping things I’ve ever watched.
It’s always interesting what comic panel you are going to share. I was figuring you were gonna show us the time Moon Knight escaped a death trap designed by Nick Furies evil brother using a can of Schlitz
extreme robert redford energy from those illustrations, i like it
I thought it was Mark Miller who licked goats?
While not the worst thing about Ellis, his “who lil ole me I had no idea I had enough clout in this industry to be considered powerful enough to create imbalanced relationship” shtick is certainly up there in reasons to despise the shithead.
If they were smart then they’d cast all three of them to play the same person.
Goatlicker’s (good name) take was admittedly interesting, but creator Doug Moench and artist Bill Sienkiewicz remains the iconic version.
Between getting the character’s name wrong (Pinbacker, not Pinback) and describing him simply as a guy who “got badly burnt”, I’m not sure Strong totally understood his role in Sunshine. Or at least doesn’t remember it well.
It’s not a film I rewatch all the time but it’s a damn good modern fairy tale.
The first time I ever noticed Mark Strong was STARDUST a film I do not think gets the love it deserves. He played the villain Septimus, with such pitch perfect fierceness, I remember going on IMDB to find out who he was.
Gosh I wish he was asked about Low Winter Sun. The critics griped about it but I loved it- he and Lennie James were incredible together.
eight hours in the makeup chair and the camera never even gets a non-blurry look at him, great work Boyle
As a UKer, it’s a nice surprise to see Eastenders pop up in a Random Roles. But no love for Our Friends in the North from 1996? Not only was it an amazing series but the four friends it follows over 30 years were played by Strong, Gina McKee, Christopher Eccleston and Daniel Craig. That’s a hell of a core ensemble.
No mention of Stardust makes me sad. I get that not everyone likes the adaptation but Strong is so damned good as Septimus.
To hell with your positivity! I want nothing less than a shot for shot remake of TNG or I'll scweam and I'll scweam until I turn blue!
fans: THIS IS NOT STAR TREK!
If most of the dilithium is gone, why do people still have anti-matter, except for weapons. Why would they still build anti-matter powered warp cores?
I was first gen nano. Eventually the battery crapped out, but it was ok because by that time I had an iPhone. Apple had a program where they would trade in your ipod nano with bad batteries for a new one. They were out of the old style so Apple gave me a new 6th gen one that I used as a watch.
Choose “best” for you. I’m 62 and I like my 12.5" laptop*, fixed desk, and $120 Staples chair. Not only may your mileage vary, it will vary.
