Ja Ja Ding Dong. Song of the year.

“we opted to highlight the lesser-known artist over a marquee name.”

On a computer, if you shrink the horizontal window dimensions to 50%-ish, it’ll revert into a scrollable article.

People I’ve Been Sad by Christine and the Queens has been by far my favourite new song this year. Her haunting voice, the droning synth and the lyrics which evoke this awful year and the isolation we’ve all experienced makes it a true standout for me.

What is Joe Pesci if not the exact midpoint between Robert De Niro and Jon Lovitz?

If you were from Canada instead of Missouri, you’d know that Graham Greene is one of our most beloved character actors.

Then there is a reaction shot of Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman sitting together, both looking ethereally beautiful and young

Stray observations:

I love how you can see Cruise’s programmed subroutine kick in when his sensors detect the camera is focused on him.

Graham Greene the actor IS a Native American, Oneida to be exact. You must be mixing him up with Graham Greene the English novelist.

Russia loses their entire oil production capacity in a Islamic terrorist bombing and then invades Europe in an attempt to neutralize NATO so they can then invade the Middle East and take all the oil.  You’ll be able to watch it live on CNN in a couple of years.

Haydn Gwynne is amazing. She was by far the best thing about the early 2000s cop series Merseybeat

If the characters keep regenerating, they can keep the show going forever...

Now playing

I won’t be happy unless the final season has Harry Enfield as Charles and Haydn Gwynne as Camilla and the ending sets up the following...

He also played in the Low and Sweet Orchestra with James Fearnley of the Pogues. They only made one album, “Goodbye to All That.” I lost my copy but its a pretty good album. His brother lives in Chicago and I met him once about a year or so ago and I think he said that Dermot still plays with Fearnely in LA.

Six seasons and a movie!

Newsletters are for conspiracy theorists and fascists! I only write manifestos!

I’ve listened to the Rogue One score about a zillion times, and now I’m going to have to listen to it again to see if I can figure out when it’s him playing.

Ha, no doubt. Her character’s still in college (learned via a kind of weird aside, late in the movie) already runs the place.
