awesome, thanks
awesome, thanks
“The movie opens with a wild, psychedelic Kryptonian battle sequence, which is a whole hell of a lot more engaging than a bored Marlon Brando intoning at crystals for 20 minutes.”
now, that looks a lot more interesting - any idea where I can find a link to the final version?
thought I’d go really deep-cut and go back to the first time they mentioned the movie. (Still want to see Julia Roberts and Scorcese have a go at it.)
i think you’ll find its spelt hoowahs. Have some respect for the language.
or go really meta and have a Janet Jopler poster.
Lynne Ramsay and Debra Granik, ditch Lanthimos and his fussy fish-eye lens. He almost ruined Favourite for me.
Interesting: using “shallow” as an insult, followed with a criticism without detail. So difficult to detect irony on the internet...
His other Shakespeare’s are excellent, and I’ll defend Thor, but yeah, Henry V leaves a long shadow.
oh, I agree - its an above-average Marvel movie, and not even the best Marvel movie last year. But if you’re going to give it a Best Picture nomination, at least follow through - MJB deserved a nomination as much as the other Supporting Actor nominees.
that’s an image thats difficult to shake eww...
I read that one of Thatchers most distinct childhood memories was of her dad (who owned the village grocery store) disapproving of what his customers bought with their ration cards. That says a lot about her attitude to society, and that regal affectation you mention.
This. And Reagan was just as racist as Trump, but the Republicans seem to have forgotten that. Or don’t care.
I know what you mean, but it was a poll of historians, so it had a bit more cred.
oh ffs... a wealthy middle-aged white men wants his own world? Dude, you run this world...
a Best Picture nomination for Black Panther without nominations in the writing, acting or director category seems a bit patronizing. What, did it get made by itself?
what did Bird say?
nice. How does Nanny McPhee rock your world?
oh, she may not have been a buffoon, but she was just as evil, if not more. Actually, that she wasn’t a total fool made her more dangerous.
I believe the correct response, in the language of the internet, is “....said no-one, ever.”
