thanks - I started with this run much later, will have to go back again.

that little shrug is awesome.

what book are the Cap pages from? Looks lovely - is it John Cassiday?

i unironically love that move. Except for Dolph - he looks right but he has zero charm. Imagine if he had half of Helmsworths charisma...

It really is amazing the they made an excellent Captain America movie by leaning into what makes the character distinctive, instead of avoiding it. And that seems to be the theme for all of the MCU, which is even more remarkable.

yeah, I don’t get the hate for Thor either. At least it’s one of the few superhero movies that doesn’t end with a bunch of cgi heroes looking at a big beam of blue light.

the trailer for this looked excellent, though I’m a bit nervous about that “objectifying the lens” thing that the review finds so compelling because it always takes me right out of the experience of watching the narrative. Having said that, it’s a beautiful looking movie.

The first dozen or so bars sounds exactly like “Got to give it up”, so they recreated the opening riff and the entire backing rhythm track, which would be good enough for me for plagiarism...

actually haven’t followed this case very closely, so you obviously know much more about it than me, but if it isn’t a literal sample, it sure sounds like it. (Honestly, when it was a hit, for the first half-dozen times I heard it in on the radio, I just assumed they where playing “Got to give it up”.) So, if the

when “potentially destructive implications for the music industry” and “ripoff” are used in the same paragraph about the same thing, I get confused.

if there was ever a post that needed to be accidentally posted 2 or 3 times, this is it.

in the trade, it’s not called “an amazing coincidence”, it’s called... The Prestige...

smart move, DC: you realized that the only good Aquaman movie is actually a Namor movie.

didn’t know she was in Talladega Nights. Thats one of those movies that I keep meaning to watch, now I have one more reason. Thanks.

the season 1 gag reels one of my favourite moments, ever: she blows a take, then says something like “sorry guys, that was the worst acting you’ve ever seen me do”. And (i think it’s the cinematographer) deadpans “no...”

yeah, I’m an idiot. (though, easy mistake to make, given the context)

eh... yeah... dangerous! uh... yeaaa...

Rebecca Bloom wins at everything.

he’s afraid of pissing off Angela Bassett.

Well, that’s it then: Black Panther is going to win everything. obvs.
