Ennis’ animus for superheroes is really odd. He started his career as an aspiring superhero comic artist, and when that didn’t take, became a writer, and that’s when the anti-superhero vibe started. Often wondered if there’s a connection.

thats an excellent analysis, and summarizes my feelings on it perfectly: it was awesome to see it in IMAX (the Jimi Hendrix track sounded fantastic on those huge speakers) but the movie really didn’t work, because Snyder really didn’t get it.
