oh, Diamond Joe, you rascal...
Totally. I didn’t (consciously) notice the earlier placement but also thought it was a real, but dead brand. Was really surprised to find out, years later, that it was invented for the movie, and couldn’t understand why it felt so convincing. Then, when I saw the movie again a few years ago, I noticed the placements…
I was crying before I read the headline.
why? Because it’s not a real brand? Yeah, I know - thats why the placement is so clever. They seed subtle references to it before it appears, to make it believable. (Didn’t spot that until I saw the movie again a few years ago.)
Staypuft in Ghostbusters. And it’s not just the monster at the end: there’s a ad on the side of a building, and Dan puts a package on her counter when she unpacks her groceries.
i’d pay good money to see that.
thats scene was very funny but I can’t imagine it working in the movie. What an odd thing. Good choice to cut it though.
omg that was genius...
gotcha. Still: nominative determinism....
...and now I’m getting all teary and craving some Billy Bragg...
indeed. It’s all so sad, isn’t it? I read Daredevil as it was published, and it was electric - you could just fell this giant talent flexing his muscles. And it was so much fun...
probably most remarkable is that the actors actually gave good performances, despite all that distraction!
on the Children of Men dvd extra, theres a breakdown (pun unintended) of how they dissembled the car as it was moving. It’s insane.
is it possible that everyone in this story is an idiot?
what happened to The Vision? Had to commit to Avengers 4 reshoots?
so that’s how they did it. Even though I was barely in my teens when I first saw it, that scene made me think “something just happened...”
the legendary quantities of cocaine he consumed when writing RoboCop 2 would explain a lot more.
there’s been talk for a few years that Miller is deathly ill, but he seems to keep going...
