dude is 61. Only Hollywoods finest cocaine will eff you up that badly.

there’s a scene in Sugerland Express, set inside the car, where the camera does a 360. Considering it was made in 1974, that’s remarkable.

and David Lean admitted to taking it from King Vidor.

thanks for an honest and articulate response.

aaaah, where’s yer Messiah now...

mix of: he appeals to the lowest common denominator; country folk really hate the sitting Premier (and i’m no fan, but they hate her for the wrong reasons); he’ll say anything to get elected, including pandering to any and all of the extremes on the right, and peddling bs to the centrists. Plus lots of pandering,

I’m fine with that, but because we don’t see her use the Force (much) until that point, it felt unearned.

true but we could get around that: he feels Leia dying, that brings him back. Do that, cut out all that casino crap and Poe’s weak-ass yo mama joke, and we have a much better movie.

my personal head canon: Luke felt her dying, reached out to her (as he did on the salt planet at the end of the movie) and guided her back to the ship. Johnson didn’t get around to shooting Lukes bit because he was having too much fun with giant horses on the dopey casino planet.

and always with the kneeling...

unless the word meant something different back then, was anyone surprised that things would go badly when they signed up for a voyage on a boat called... Terror?

I’d like to subscribe to your newsletter.

ha! Sorry for the confusion - I thought you meant Rob Ford. (And yes, he has a more evil, nastier brother will probably be the next Premier (Governor) of Ontario).

do a youtube search for “Matthew Rhys : The man of 1000 accents” - he’s amazing.

Matthew Rhys and Damien Lewis are the gold standard. And when you hear how non-RP Rhys natural Welsh accent is, his American accent is even more impressive.

“...DVD extras for The Larry Sanders Show”

but now we have to deal with his nasty brother.

Marvel really need to move past the final fight “hero vs hero’s evil version” trope.

excellent point.

um Daft Punk did more than provide a hook in that song - they did everything interesting. Abel sounded like a guest on his own song.
