the high republic jedi were a bit more varied in how they used the force and how they applied their peacekeeping. It was less conservative as an order in general.

I’m with you on this. Absolutely DONE with the eternal Skywalker & sidekicks saga. To be fair, I’ve enjoyed the hell out of the Mandalorian, and don’t hate the most recent three movies. Andor was refreshingly different, despite it’s connection to the S&SS.
“Then there’s the image on the poster itself. Clearly, that’s a lightsaber with a trail of blood. Pretty violent for Star Wars, don’t you think? But is it the Jedi doing the killing? Someone else with a Jedi’s lightsaber? There are so many questions.”
Aside from Andor, this is the only Star Wars I can bring myself to be excited about right now. Good showrunner, really strong cast, and seemingly telling something approaching a new story.
I’m excited. I do hope it doesn’t make the Jedi out to be too dogmatic. It does seem to me like they have a valid point about using the force selfishly and how it turns to evil...
It’s a pretty simple formula.
I will point out that it’s well documented that Hayden Christensen was directed by Lucas to be awkward and wooden in most of his scenes. He's not actually a bad actor and the performance he delivered was what the director wanted for some reason that makes no sense to anyone who wasn't a small child at the time they…
the bts doc for The Phantom Menace is probably one of the best documentary thats ever came out. its like watching a trainwreck in slowmo.
I was a teenager when the Prequels came out, and at the time I was totally swept up in their cultural zeitgeist. I was a prequel-apologist for a couple of summers, and was always willing to overlook those films’ flaws because “Episode III is going to fix everything.” And while Revenge of the Sith is certainly the best…
Every time I reappraise them, I find they still suck.
“Challenging long-held ideas around the Force—and blurring the lines between the Light and Dark sides—is a relatively new path in Star Wars media”
There are many, many layers of dumb here, but ironically, the only entity with a legal argument for free speech to be made here is Disney for firing Carano.
Looks like someone discovered that the right-wing media bubble didn’t pay as well as she’d hoped.
For the 1 millionth time, free speech protects people from the government imposing penalties on you for saying stupid/offensive/controversial/etc shit.
“As a sign of X Corp’s commitment to free speech”
That’s what I was exactly going to say. The issue with the Sequel Trilogy wasn’t the characters but rather the story (or rather the mess) that they all eventually fell into.
Say what you want about JJ, but he cast TFA extremely well.
I liked all the new characters in the sequels. I just wish they’d had more interesting things to do.
He probably hasn’t discussed with his lawyers what his exposure is if he encourages people to do things that are potentially hazardous to their health and illegal. Regardless of your opinion on PED’s, obtaining and using controlled substances without a valid prescription is a crime, lying to a doctor about why you…
One of the weirdest things about living in the 21st century is watching SNL skits and Onion headlines go from satire to reality. It’s a bit disturbing.
