It seems that her father and step-mother are truly supportive of her. I hope she leans on them for guidance and support.

She was severely abused and exploited for years. Not only was she away from social media, she is emotionally very young for her age as a result of the captivity and abuse she endured. I think it’s reasonable that she is going to make some public mistakes and she deserves a little grace.

It is really great that she has her dad and his side of the family as a support system.

THANK YOU.

So the article isn’t great, but my thoughts as a fan are simply, “lets make some good star wars movies”. I feel the same with marvel. I’m a man, I believe that I really only care if directors are good or not. Maybe there’s more men out there that don’t like women directors, but it’s not something I’ve come across in

Thank you. Agreed.

Seriously, this article is doing way more harm then good for the director

Thank you! I had to get to a comment on like the third article I read about this today for someone to actually point out that she wasn’t talking about Star Wars, which is why I was initially confused.

Can someone please edit this article? The implication is that she says this in response to Star Wars, recently, but it’s actually from 2015, and is about her making documentaries about the abuse and mistreatment of women in Pakistan, and how by having uncomfortable conversations, she is helping people actually see and

I found it extremely telling how keyboard warriors could write thousand-word screeds about how Kennedy ruined Star Wars with the sequel trilogy, but had almost nothing to say about Bob Iger or the executives at Disney.

Folks should watch or not watch but this freaking out is unproductive. I know folks love to hold onto their version of their childhood but honestly they need to grow the fk up.

At the end of the day, this movie will either be good and make money, or it will suck and continue the Disney losing streak. My money is on the later.

Proving once again that the internet is a force multiplier for stupidity.

The Star Wars movies plans have been in a free-fall ever since the dork reaction to TLJ, Disney panicking and putting the dipshit back in charge of TRoS, that being a total shitshow of a movie, and something called a “pandemic” making plans difficult to follow through on.

Because it doesn’t fit the narrative that The Marvels failed because of misogyny, the patriarchy, etc. Which is this articles sole purpose.

Fandoms are all about forming your identity around a piece of consumable pop-culture, so any attack on or failure on that piece of IP that is your whole self feels personal

Seriously, why didn’t the person also ask why was Flash a bomb at 50+ Million!?

Wonka also pulled in its dollars despite the fact movie musicals are on the outs nowadays

Shadow and Bone season 2 was just “fine”. But the Crows were the characters that I enjoyed the most. Killing Six of Crows as a series is a bad move that I hope they regret.  Let the rights expire and have someone else pick it up.

Loved the aesthetics of this show, especially any time we were focused on the Crows and their side of the wall!
