Body disposal is definitely an important part of dealing with a pandemic. I’m sure the people who are on burial duty could use a break. I can’t imagine how exhausted and demoralized the people who are on the front lines with virus must feel.

I feel like people who don’t think the virus is real should be volunteering to clean the covid ward at the nearest hospital. They won’t get sick from something that doesn’t exist, right? I’m sure the hospital staff could use the help; and they don’t need any protective equipment.
If you are a US citizen working abroad you still pay US income taxes. But I know what you are saying...the billionaires will just drop their citizenship. Honestly I’m surprised they bother to have citizenship anywhere.
sadly my company doesn’t provide any funding for internet access. <sigh>
There is a giant difference in the T1 connection your office probably had; and your home internet connection. At least there is for mine.
let me get this straight...I am working from home...i pay for the electricity, the internet connection, officer furniture and now an extra $10 per day? Can my employer cover this since they aren’t paying for my utilities and internet?
Hear hear! Let’s be less judgy!
I can’t wait to be able to ignore trump again. Also I can’t wait to kick DeJoy out of the Post Office.
Poor minks, I hope it doesn’t spread to our wild populations. We need them.
Possums are awesome. They eat ticks. Here in the south we need all the tick eaters we can get. Please send your back stair possums to NC. :-)
The online world is full of people pretending to be something than they are...young if they are old, attractive if they are plain, female if they are male, or male if they are female, pretending to be a celebrity when they aren’t. I’m masquerading as jackalope.
I think they should make the next debate virtual. If a person speaks over their allotted time, their mic is turned off, and their picture blurred out of focus. The transcript of what they continue to talk about can scroll down the screen; but the other person is allowed to make his/her point clearly.
if he can afford millions for campaigns he can afford to cover this himself.
Given the fact we can’t even get people to wear a simple mask these days, I think selling the idea of leaving your home for a 200ft space is going to be a hard sell for a lot of people :-)
If we want people to adopt new habits we need to make it easy for them to do so. In my city the developers build gigantic houses because they make a bigger profit (the SUVs of houses) They don’t build very many small (starter homes). It is an enormous change for them to move away from the model that lets them save…
I think this space allocation might be really difficult now that so many people are working at home.
I feel the same. There have been some environmental wins...but the big picture, our culture...I don’t feel like it has changed significantly. Every company with toxic waste still tries to dump it unsafely and as cheaply as possible. Some companies pay attention to their packaging, which is nice; but their products are…
as a genXr my decision not to have children was definitely due to environmental concerns. Too much Woodsy Owl I guess. I just didn’t want to have a kid in a world whiteout whales or elephants or cheetahs or rhinos. :-/ I had no idea bees were going to be so threatened. I’ve never regretted my decision.
werd. I remember when i was in college in the 80s my cohort being described as ‘the first generation not to have a better standard of living than our parents’...it is true. My dad supported a family of 6 on the wage that my husband and i live on (with cats, no kids)
I had totally forgotten the final scene. The only scene I remember from that movie is when the humans all peeled off their faces.
