My point was not that white people are not as well equipped to joke about racism, but that it is an unfair thing to suggest that they never be even allowed to mention it. That it’s somehow okay for a Jewish man to parody anti-Semitic behaviour in Borat, but (by this logic) not acceptable for Amy Schumer to play a twit

Neither you nor Doandroidsdreamofelectricsheep get it. I’m not saying it’s because you both have robotic references in your user names and don’t understand human logic and/or humour. But I’m not NOT saying it, either.

Are you replying to someone else’s comment?

By this logic, you are suggesting that only black people are allowed to criticise racism. White people must not even mention it. As in, Schumer’s bits are indeed criticising racism. The idea that a white person is not allowed to make such jokes, but a Jew is allowed to make anti-Semitic jokes or a black person could

Why isn’t it the same?

A couple weeks ago I posted my good news, that I was almost at the end of a long year of cancer treatment. And so it came to pass! But, the after effects persist: after 25 radiation treatments, I am now a burn patient. In fact right this minute, I’m just waiting for the percocet to kick in so I can get some sleep.

Exactly!

Just sayin’, I like your writing and I like the sound of your aunt. Passover at House Snark must be pretty damn fantastic.

If she really said that, then your aunt sounds pretty awesome.

They told me to expect that some friends would drop out of sight, and that happened- it hurt. But for every person that faded away, at least two acquaintances stepped up and did awesome things... people who were formerly pleasant but peripheral in my life. It all balances out.

Unless he had an actual gun to her head, there is no reason for her to be on that date except for refusing to say no in a way that could not be misconstrued. At some point she failed to stand up for herself and agreed to go out with him. That’s where she and I differ. You too, apparently.

Sadly, I think you’re right. Also, they don’t even know that men can get breast cancer; that plus denial equates to late diagnosis with poor outcomes.

You hit the nail right on the head. All of this!

So do I! For the months, I was restricted to lifting no more than 4lbs, and now I’m freakin’ exhausted from radiation. Help with housework is seriously the thing that would most help me right now, but it’s the last thing anyone would think to offer. Alas.

Mark, I agree with every damn word of this article, which is not something I always say about your stuff. Breast cancer patient RIGHT here, used to have a fantastic rack. Not even a tiny bit charmed by this thinly-veiled BonerQuest dressed up like cancer awareness.

I hope someone not-in-greys stars you for this, because it’s right on fleek. Well played.

Because bewbs, apparently.

This gif is my everything today.

And, to some extent, about men. Guys who get breast cancer tend to have a higher mortality rate than women, in some part because of lack of awareness.

You said it perfectly. I had a mastectomy not too long ago, and now I’m a burn patient after 25 rounds of radiation. I just got in, literally fifteen minutes ago, from a weekly support group in which two of my friends are going to die fairly soon from breast cancer.
