this song is fucking awful. seriously, does no one else realise just how melodramatic and hideous it is? how is that obnoxious lea michele double famous and how did it win an oscar? actually, that last part's easy, the oscars consistently reward the worst song of the category. but still. make it stop.

white upper class women are women too. sounds like you have a social class issue/chip on your shoulder when it comes to the women in his films.

it's sad that you can only appreciate female characters that you feel 'represent' you. i'm thankful that i can enjoy movies with a wide variety of female characters, kinda like how in real life i can appreciate people from all walks of life.

well i'm a woman and i feel like almodóvar and allen are both in a league of their own when it comes to writing female characters, and casting and directing fabulous actresses that are more than just your typical hollywood bombshells du jour. i find their characters more profound and resonating than, say, nora

It's called plus size because they're for people who are bigger than average. I find plus size is a nicer way of putting it than say "husky" or whatever it is they used to call them. Either way, they're euphemisms for the same thing but if they called it the oversized or obese people section people would go nuts.

cory monteith was a tv actor (and a bad one at that), not a movie actor. i don't understand why he would have been included in the first place. he was included in the in memoriam segments for awards shows that were also for television actors.

I thought her speech was graceful and eloquent. and she did acknowledge woody when she thanked him for casting her and giving her the opportunity to deliver the performance of a lifetime. and she thanked him for writing that wonderful screenplay - and the fact that she later went on to argue for the creation of more

why would she snub him? he wrote the amazing screenplay, directed the fantastic movie, and wrote the role for which she delivered the performance of a lifetime. last i checked, this is about movies, not the personal scandals of the people that make them.

I disagree with you about Leto's acting (I thought he was superb), but Rayon was HORRIBLY written.

yeah, i know she won for 'the aviator' but while she was great in that, she's been deserving of a best actress award for ages, and was robbed for 'elisabeth'.

yeah, best supporting. but for best lead she was robbed by gwyneth fucking paltrow in 'shakespeare in love'

that song is the biggest piece of shit i've heard in a while. of course it won best song...

Cate Blanchett! Finally. I always though she was robbed when she didn't win for 'Elisabeth' but I'm so happy she finally won, and for a performance that was possibly even better. Loved her speech too.

wow. her speech was outstanding.

ok, rainman.

lol what's your point? you seem a little... excessively concerned with my comment. i posted early on, thinking it would get the typical reaction. lo and behold, it didn't.

really? of course it does. pathological liars aren't the only people who could be lying about a rape. in the dylan farrow case, she was so young it is plausible that her mother manipulated her - especially when you also have testimony from a couple of her other kids that's precisely about how she was manipulative and

Meanwhile, the "credibility," or lack thereof, of an accuser doesn't really (and shouldn't!) mean anything about whether an assault actually happened. But, if an accusation is false, how could you ever prove it? If not by calling into question the accuser's credibility?

i haven't read all the comments but that's usually the case of jezebel commenters. look at the dylan farrow articles and the comments in there. if anyone so much as suggested maybe dylan farrow had been 'coached' by her mother, people went mental.
