Agree it's not a given. Disagree that you'll get more support if you include paternal leave as well - that'll just scare off the Republicans and a good chunk of Democrats. Know what's even more taboo than paid maternity leave? That's right: the idea that both mothers and fathers will have paid time off work to take

I'm just being realistic. In theory I totally agree with you but come on, we're talking about a country where something as basic and inoffensive as Obamacare divided the country and prompted cries of 'Socialism!'. Very few countries have mandatory leave for fathers. And even in countries that offer it, very few men

Agree some kind of leave for fathers is important too but unfortunately for us, they haven't invented a way for men to get pregnant which means we're left to deal with most of it. Baby steps. I live in the US but I'm not American and the no maternity leave thing has always baffled me - it's one more of those

I like the clothes. The photos are ok but nothing special. I bet Lena's pissed that they made her wear dresses that are actually flattering.

agreed. but i just don't see what the big deal is or why this is being turned into another gender war thing. i've had to ask women to remove their purse from the seat next to them so i could sit down as well. and to be honest, i've been the woman with the purse on the seat next to me as well, though i always remove my

so why not just ask the guy taking up three seats to put his feet up, to sit down properly so that you can sit down too?

this. I take the train every day and when the only free seat is next to a dude sitting down with his legs spread wide taking up more room than he should, i just politely ask him if he can move over so i can sit, too. they might get pissy and sigh or give me a look but i have never had anyone refuse to move. maybe

not in Texas.

Fellow shortie here, and I think HP is beautiful but yeah, she's never been a great dresser. It's not so much the black and white as it is the cut of the dress and the halter neck which are all wrong for her, made her look squat and shorter than she is. Just my opinion.

I'm not saying it's good or bad that this is how it works for awards show, I was merely explaining why HP was tweeting a card from Tom Ford. It's all very silly, the whole ritual actresses put themselves through to get dressed up for awards show but yeah, it's not just a matter of wearing said designer, you're wearing

Her body looks amazing in that dress but the dress itself is pretty tacky. I like the shoes but I agree the make up is off and the hair is pageanty.

I think the way it works in celebrity-land is your stylist talks to different designers or the designers approach your stylist to express an interest in dressing you, they send over a bunch of dresses and you pick the one you like best. it's almost unheard of for big stars to buy their own dresses for an award show.

LOL are you serious? I was speaking as a fellow shortie, I'm probably the same height she is or maybe a smidge taller. There's nothing wrong with knowing what styles look good on you and which ones don't. Lighten up.

Jenny McCarthy looks like a really tragic wax doll version of herself. She should stop whatever she's paying her doctor to do to her.

There's some back story to Hayden Panetierre's tweet. Actresses have designers lend them dresses for these events. Tom Ford only dresses one celebrity per awards show. At this year's Golden Globes, that was Naomi Watts. Apparently he's never dressed Hayden. But she wanted to wear Tom Ford anyway so she went out and

i know they're just kids but i can't stand these two little assholes. i blame their closet scientologist parents.

Even higher than 88% actually. And the black population in Montana is a whopping 0.3%. The gender disparity is more worrisome when it comes to Montana. Now Mississippi is another matter.

I wish angry jezzies would tell me I have to like Janelle, instead of Beyonce, or it means I'm a Bad Feminist.

Sure it does. They might not care now but I for one am grateful I was exposed to my parents' awesome taste in music as opposed to some of the crap a lot of people grew up listening to.

You didn't make an "original question". You made accusations based on claims of me saying things I did not say, three posts in. The first few posts weren't of you asking questions, they were you being rude -for no reason-.
