Agreed, people who freak out about their bridesmaid dresses are a mystery. I wore one for a friend that made me look like gigantic, consumptive child at an Easter party (I am very tall and it hit me in a weird place, did nothing for my average belly, and was a bad color for me). That's what she liked, that's what she

I got an earful for wearing a veil made of antique lace that wasn't completely white. Apparently, it was advertising my "fallen woman" status. As if anyone thought I was a virgin.

Oooh, boy I hope no one does. Though I have a feeling I'm going to get an earful at the reception for not wearing a veil, not having a religious ceremony, not wearing white shoes, and probably the lack of hard liquor at the afternoon wedding. Maybe I'll get lucky and granny just won't show up.

Dear Giuliana,

I will go so far as to say that he shouldn't be harassed. Not because he doesn't deserve some hell in his life for what he's done. He absolutely does deserve some hell. But he shouldn't be harassed because it just reinforces the underlying idea that online harassment/doxxing/swatting/et al. are legitimate ways of

I find it scary that there is apparently a segment of the population that absolutely cannot empathize with another person's situation until they specifically go through the same thing themselves. Also scary: People that think that sending death threats to strangers in any way constitutes humor.

HAHAHAHA ETHICS IN GAMING JOURNALISM AMIRITE?

The problem with Gamergate is you can't satirize these people. I can't stress this enough: the wider point here is the gamification of the harassment of women."

You are a HEROINE, for facing these guys up front like that. And keeping your composure. How do you do it, because if I did it, I would never have been as nice as you were (I also would've been freaking out a little).

I am so fucking sick of these children who harass and threaten women but then the second the tables turn they're like "wahhh omg it's really serious and I am scared!" They have no empathy or intelligence at all/they think women aren't people. I'm just sick of it. Fuck these manchildren.

Even if the movie doesn't get consent right, if he is a reasonably functional human being then it's vanishingly unlikely he saw a movie and thought, "Ah yes, that looks fun, I will now try it on another person without any kind of discussion first." That's just not how normal humans with reasonable mental capacities

I don't think that's naive at all. You're holding people accountable for their actions instead of blindly accepting that they did something because a movie told them to.

I completely disagree. Rape means something extremely specific- penis in vagina. Sexual assault covers a gamut of things, but it doesn't specify exactly which horrible, devaluing act was perpetrated on the victim. The victim deserves privacy. And sexual assault gives the victim as much privacy over the grisly details

He definitely did not get that idea from the movie. He wanted to do it, knew he was wrong and raped that girl because that's something HE wanted to do. This man can't use the legal defense, "oh, I saw this and wanted to try it...but you know...didn't want my partner to consent at all cuz that's how the book laid it

lol. Definitely rape apologists. Again, maybe I'm just being SUPER naive, but I really do think people can tell the difference between reality and fantasy, and fiction and non-fiction. If guys are actually confused about it, they're confused because they want to be and they want an excuse to act like monsters.

I know I'm naive and I can be extraordinarily pollyanna sometimes, but I just don't believe that he got this from the film (or the books). I legit don't believe anyone is that stupid or that easy to influence. He probably said it was because of FS0G because he thought it would help him get off or get a lighter

SOME PEOPLE HAVE NEVER EVER SEEN A BOWL WITHOUT SOUP IN IT. If you don't understand this, you are a heartless elitist.

So at this place, everything tastes like ham?

Ugh, some of these employees have so much attitude. If you're unwilling to do things just because they're logically impossible, maybe customer service isn't for you.
