My favorite quote on this show to date: "He's a dog. His name is Dog." The delivery caught me completely off guard. Adam is such a brilliant character.

I totally agree. Thomas used to be the WORST, but now I just want him to find love and someone who understands him (ok, and get laid). If I had to live my whole life gay and repressed in that era (when it was a felony simply to BE gay), I'd probably be an asshole, too.

Sadly for him, I can't envision any other role he'd be good at than the mild-mannered, milquetoast dude in the British period piece. He doesn't have what it takes to make it in mainstream US features. Nope - I think he just made a pretty serious misstep.

Wait, everyone hates Branson? This is news to me. He's been my favorite male character since he first broke into the ranks of the featured downstairs folk. It's a combination of him reminding me of my man AND being a bit of a revolutionary hell raiser. LOVE him.

Ewww - no way in hell! Branson is way too good for her.

That's actually a great point - I can't get enough Breaking Bad, but it's gotten so, so dark. It's nice to at least have some idealism coming from a main character.

I don't think it's that great of a show, yet I continue watching. There's something about Amy that I identify with deeply (idealism, sense of justice, frustration with complacency), but she also irritates the shit out of me. Maybe that's because I reluctantly identify with her petty, childish side, too.

That is the instructor response I've ever heard. I hate when they just smooth over it, obviously as embarrassed as the poor fart-feasor.

I find that hilarious. In Les Mis, for example (of course, not originally a movie, yes I know), they all had British accents. It's so odd that British is the default accent for all of Europe, when speaking in English. How hard would it have been to have them all speak in a French accent? A little more true to the

Truth.

That's really interesting about the men's perspective. I think my boyfriend finds it somewhat intriguing, and somewhat confusing that I don't (as of now) want a ring. Part of my allure, I suppose! Diamonds are beautiful, but if he proposed with a honker, I would be pretty grossed out, and I think he knows that.

Can you give a quick description of what that is, for the faint of heart?

I totally respect that. And I love the idea of designing one's own! I guess it's just refreshing, as someone who doesn't want a ring for several reasons, to get this article's take on it. Otherwise, I'm the odd one out amongst all of my sparkly-fingered friends.

Absolutely, absolutely agree. I think they're pretty and kind of want one just because my friends all have one now.... which is precisely the problem.

Living a block from South Coast Plaza is NOT LA. Not at all. Orange County is a different world... a pretty world, but one where I can't stand to spend much more than a weekend. Come visit LA! Way, way more interesting, and surprisingly way less superficial.

Truth! I love, love, love LA. So much so that I'm about to move back. :)

LOVE this.

With you there - I never found him attractive until this episode. I think it was how well he treated her and how mature he behaved, especially in contrast to the other guys on the show.

Impersonate him? That's very strange. I think it's probably an example of older people using facebook in a way that younger people who grew up with facebook just wouldn't touch. I think I'd find it uncomfortable, and even offensive, if someone did that with a grandparent of mine. But your poor aunt probably thinks

Watching this almost made me faint.
