I agree with most of this, but Cafe Disco is a delight.
What happened to Andy in the last two seasons was a disgrace. It was like the writers hated Ed Helms or something.
Well, those were unambiguously the best seasons of the show. (Though I actually think the quality drop-off began in Season 5, accelerated in 6, and then skyrocketed after Carrell left.)
Yes. Looking at Moffat's Dr. Who, the various twists involving River Song are IMO the best examples of Moffat prioritizing great emotional moments over any coherent emotional narrative, ultimately making those moments meaningless.
Arriving three years late to this party (wake?) just to say that that scene was the moment I finally looked at Christine Beranski and said to myself, "Yeah, I totally would."
"This was jaw dropping, but I just can't help but think it's a Scandal-type move."

I believe the gentlemen may find it wise to inspect his own person before he wrecks his own person.
Sometimes, but definitely not in this episode. I found every decision he made in this episode baffling.
It's good, but I'm not sure it has a strong enough sense of place. Could she say the city's name a few more times?
Too bad she seems to be taking a hiatus from the show. You think the actress just wasn't available? ;)
It was a very insightful comment, and fairly examined the strengths and weaknesses of this season as well as Moffat's tenure.
I refuse to think about an idea that stupid, but that did seem to be the indication.
Ugh. The idea of turning every dead person on earth into a Cyberman should have been shot down long before it made its way into an actual episode. God, Season 8 was hateful. It's amazing how much the show has been able to rehabilitate itself since.
"Bro-Hamsel in dis suit"
I remember quite a few scenes of the guards there last season, but it's easy to forget details between if you don't rewatch, given how long between seasons we have to wait. For instance, I still don't remember why Piscatella hated Red so much.
All true, but I remembered absolutely none of that until you brought it up.
Tony died on the way back to his home planet.
Him?
