I definitely feel like the Netflix series are often, let’s say, not respectful of my time. The pacing of the various series as a whole, and the way they slice up the episodes, speaks to a lazy confidence that we’re bought-in schmucks who’ll just keep watching, and it doesn’t matter if they meander for three hours.

Let’s take Paxton’s definition.

Can we talk about the Black Sky? I watched Daredevil and I’m still not clear on what this actually means. Anyone? She’s a weapon, great. She’s the ultimate weapon, fine. But what does that ACTUALLY mean?!

I dunno, they seem to be recruiting a slave army and either coercing, brainwashing or outright forcing their troops into battle for their ideal, which is domination of other some cultures and obliteration of others. That seems like textbook fascim right there.

Yes, it’s clearly intentional that Danny is both naive and not in control of his Iron Fist power, though I’m really not sure why on the latter point.
