I grew up in a very red state (which I did eventually move out of as an adult), and I always hated that logic. People just boil huge geographic areas down to “blue” or “red” and forget that even in my deep red home state, like 40% of the votes were against Republicans.

What are Democrats doing to stop this? Fundraising pleas?

Also, didn’t Jennifer Grey just release a book claiming that Depp was violent and jealous during their time together?

Didn’t Depp also claim that he would donate the money directly? So why hasn’t he done that?

This is another case where it’s a lot of headlines like “ACLU says Heard Lied About Donation! Pulled Funding!” but then the actual statements are like “She had initially said that she would donate 3 million. She donated 1.3 million over the first year and then ran into financial troubles and has not donated further.”

I just can’t imagine being like “Being queer at this school is terrible, so I’m going to have to attack the one singular queer speaker who gets brought in.”

I mean, I mostly find it ironic that I couldn’t go out for pizza because of lockdowns but Phoebe Bridgers could make a transatlantic bootycall. I also remember the overwhelmingly negative response when a writer on here wrote about doing a fitness class in person. I think the lockdowns were largely pointless because of

I really want to know more about the trans student who said that the content of the gay speaker’s talk made her uncomfortable. I’d really like some details on that, because I can’t imagine that the having one gay speaker come to a class would be worse than just being trans at that school?

I don’t think the fired professor was gay. He just brought in a gay speaker.

Is Ray J suggesting that a Kardashian would just... lie? For publicity?

Man, did I dream all the travel restrictions in 2020? Did I just imagine it? It seems like everybody else was on an international walkabout.

Christian school administrators are people who lust after power but aren't qualified to work at real schools.

There are also people who prefer methodical theatrics over any change.

I'd imagine that if someone who's worth not-that-many-million dollars is getting sued for $30 million and also donating millions of that they do have, that would probably also be a problem. Like, purging assets so the court can't get them or something.

I'd also imagine that donating millions of dollars while you're being sued for millions of dollars might cause its own problems.

I like how the implication is that she’s attention seeking by having a lawsuit filed *against* her by a man who *definitely* isn’t attention seeking and acting out of spite himself.

I think it's the self-respecting practitioner part. I'm guessing she makes most of her money doing stuff like this.

I think they did spend a very limited amount of time together (and under what are obviously very weird circumstances). But yeah, just making diagnoses and also refuting previous diagnoses is... pretty bold. And a clinical mental health professional I know said that most professionals steer very clear of histrionic

I saw a whole Reddit thread with the theme of “This is what she gets for trying to sue him to get famous.” and “She was already rich, she’s just doing this out of spite.” where apparently they have VERY STRONG OPINIONS but didn’t even realize who brought the lawsuit or what it was about.

I’m shocked at the number of women who are convinced he just couldn't have done it. Gilbert Grape isn't going to hug you because you called his ex a bitch.
