The scene with Pornstache and his mom was very uncomfortable for me because I have said, "I need you to have an appropriate reaction" to my older son more times than I can count.

Yael Stone is really good. I think part of the reason the scene bothered me so much was that it was played for laughs; I felt like the show was on Morello's side.

I really, really hope we see some consequences for Morello this time.

Seriously, the theme of the season seems to be "All mothers are terrible. Except for maybe Pornstache Mom, who raised a dentist and an art historian."

I am so torn, because on the one hand I want her to get caught and have her prison time extended, and on the other hand I have run out of patience with her and don't want her at Litchfield anymore.

That's how I read it, too, and it really kind of ruined Morello for me. She used to be my favorite! But I can't root for her while she's masterminding attacks on her victim. (Her actions last season were disturbing and sad, but I didn't think she'd actually physically harm someone.)

I used a recipe from a cooking blog, I think.

I maligned red velvet food in all its forms the other day, but I have to admit that I once made red velvet cheesecake brownies that were amazing.

Oh, wow, you're right, that was her! I remember her, but at the time I couldn't place her.

Yep, this is my favorite episode of the season (closely followed by the Flaca episode). I really like the way it shows two sides of Leanne's need for faith and structure.

I'm sorry. I'm having a crappy day at work. Maybe I'm just channeling my frustration into this.

No, I know. My point is just that it doesn't matter that Daya set him up. The facts of the case haven't changed, and he admitted to it when he was arrested — he was yelling about it as he was led away in front of the half the prison. (Wouldn't that be a "spontaneous declaration"? I'm not sure, I'm not a lawyer.)

Yes, they did set him up, but that doesn't change the fact that he had sex with her, and it is illegal for a guard to have sex with an inmate, whether or not it was coerced. He is going to find out that he was used, but that doesn't make him not guilty.

Except she didn't actually fake testimony; Mendez really did sleep with her, which really is illegal. (And she already told Fig that she wasn't coerced.) I don't really see how the revelation that she is pregnant by a different guard affects Mendez.

As a former fellow Arkansan who converted to Judaism, kosher food is OK in general, but prepackaged kosher food tends to be better than other prepackaged food. Kosher meals on a plane, for example, are a cut above regular airplane food. Not gourmet, but definitely more appetizing. So I assume it would be the same for

I don't hate her, but she's definitely not one of my favorites.

Well, I'm happy about Norma being away from Red, but the cult is creeping me out.

Oooh, The Narrow Road to the Deep North is wonderful.

I always feel that the movies/TV shows made of Perrotta's books work much better than the books themselves. I don't know what it is — the way he writes doesn't do it for me.

The cult leader said that the police were after him, so I thought maybe she got mixed up in that, and she's actually doing time for tax evasion or fraud. It seemed unlikely that she would have been caught for the murder, given the circumstances.
