I'm not wild about Grieving Mother so far, but Durance has grown on me.

Yes. But I have high hopes for the Torment game that is coming out late this year/early next.

I like it more than you do, but I haven't finished it yet (I just left Defiance Bay). But I agree with you that it isn't a great game — to me it's Baldur's Gate I, and I have high hopes that the sequel will be as amazing as Baldur's Gate II.

Find a responsible family within the church with kids her age to whom he can steer her. He should be a sounding board for Paige, someone she can turn to, but he should not be her only emotional resource. Leaving aside creepiness, he should be able to see that what he's doing is making Paige too dependent on him and

Oh, I read that book a few months ago. It is fabulous.

He is horrible! How does he not realize how inappropriate his friendship with Paige is? Why isn't he steering her toward some of the kids in the youth group, since she's obviously lonely?

I was certain that Philip was going to shoot her at the end. I could hardly watch.

But you also have to file the papers after the wedding, and you don't have to be there in person for that. Clark could have easily said, "I'll drop by the office and get these taken care of," and then not done it.

I thought it was General Hospital.

But Martha is still doomed to end up dead or in a jail cell. I just don't see another plausible ending for her. Whereas Paige still has other options, I think.

I haven't seen all of these—"30 for 30" is not a must-watch show for me—but I think we just have different tastes.

IMO, the only things on that list that would give The Americans a run for its money are Mad Men and Fargo. (And they're actually not airing right now; but I would call it close to a tie anyway.)

Eh, I think you're selling the Americans a little short. I think it's the best thing on TV right now.

That's how I feel about Elizabeth Moss. You seem so smart and grounded, what's with the Scientology? But I think (I could be wrong) that Moss grew up in the church, which makes it much harder to break away.

I was thinking about this earlier — since the parents were there for the wedding, shouldn't there be a photo? It's hard to imagine two doting parents going to their only child's wedding and not bringing their camera.

Since I finished all my Tournament of Books reading, I decided to switch to non-fiction for a while: Age of Ambition: Chasing Fortune, Truth, and Faith in the New China and The Watchers: A Secret History of the Reign of Elizabeth I. Age of Ambition is fantastic; too soon to tell about The Watchers.

Yes, Affinity is my favorite of hers, too. I'm also fond of The Night Watch, even though it's very different.

I haven't read any of the Vorkosigan books, but my son has been reading the series and loves it. I just put Diplomatic Immunity on his Kindle this morning.

You should read the Ron Chernow biography of Alexander Hamilton; you can feel Chernow's disdain for Jefferson wafting from the pages.
