Yep, this is completely awesome. AVC is officially back, baby!

Makes room for categories that have been missing like most stunt positions. Maybe motion capture acting? Voice acting? There are plenty of options.

Nice song list AV Club and congrats on the Editor-in-Chief job, Ms. Chavez. The St. Joe Strummer line in “Constructive Summer” rang pretty true for me when the record came out. I’m looking forward to seeing who sings it. Also, if GWAR covered “Naked as We Came,” that would be pretty funny.

Welcome back, Danette (which is, incidentally, my middle name!), and congratulations on the position! And welcome back to Rabin and co. Really excited to see what all this brings for AVClub.

I haven’t actually heard a third of the songs on the list, which generally makes it difficult to evaluate covers...but I’ll take whatever worthwhile AVC Content that I can get. Welcome (back) aboard, Ms. Chavez!

Except that the CW’s 58-year-old audience was watching the CW!  Clearly they (we) liked that programming, even if it was ostensibly targeted at a younger audience.  Rather than stick with what drew us to the network, they’re going to give us the same crap we could have watched elsewhere if we had wanted to.

I don’t think it necessarily seemed he wasn’t interested in the film...I think it was DEFINITELY clear that Waititi was more interested in just having fun and fucking around and thinking more professionally and creatively about the movie.

Love & Thunder is such a massive piece of shit that it broke the Marvel spell for me. I’d been a huge MCU fan since the beginning, but that movie was so fucking stupid, so insulting to its audience, and just so lazy and cheap-looking that it was like a bucket of ice water in the face. I was angry I’d paid money to see

IMO it’s not about it feeling fresh or not, Love and Thunder is just a poorly written and directed movie that leaned into the worst aspects of Ragnarok. It had interesting subplots with Jane’s battle with cancer and Gorr’s anger at the gods but both took a backseat to unnecessary and, frankly, annoying humor like the

Love & Thunder’s mess is more on Taika’s shoulders. He clearly wasn’t interested in doing the film and should have said no.

What, no love for Not Another Teen Movie or That 80s Show?

I came in here specifically to see any mention of “A Touch of Cloth”...or “NTSF:SD:SUV” for that matter. I have a deep love for Cop-Spoofs and she was great in both the above.

What a shit ass thing to say

Looks like no. Except maybe a little on the northern Oklahoma/Arkansas border.

100%. I work for a fortune 500, and it is the same cycle every time. Our economy is dependent on the myth of unlimited growth. When you lay off all of these people, it frees up reporting cash for shareholders to see. Which means when they actually do have growth, they will need to re-hire anyways and have massive

I think he means jive, as in have a hip, formless, and possibly inauthentic conversation. He and Sydney just like to jive, Turkey!

100% with you. I hate exclusives and more access to games is better for everyone.

I’m always a fan of more people playing games. Exclusivity is an anti-consumer practice and I’d love Playstation fans to get the games I play on the console they want.

What did I just read? In no reality is JJ’s better than Jersey Mike’s.

We wouldn’t get dressed up but our go-to “fancy” restaurants for me and my parents were Hungry Hunter (which had awesome decor partly because it was anachronistic for the small, beachside town I grew up in) and Marie Callendar’s, which my Japanese mom LOVED (especially for their banana cream pies). Man, I miss those
