I’m honestly unsure about the answer to the first question.  I was under impression that it was WWE’s idea, but if it was an NBC idea, I’m guessing the answer to the second questions is a big fat “no.”

I don’t even know I’d say there are too many belts—I think belts just need to stick to one show and stay there. Make the Universal Title the Raw brand top belt, and the Heavyweight belt the Smackdown one. Put the Cruiserweight belt on Bischoff’s show, the 24/7 belt on Paul’s, etc.

If they get creative control over their shows, I think this actually works. Heyman, as many people have already pointed out, is brilliant. Bischoff is no slouch, either, and with the appropriate resources, I think he can do a pretty good show.

I wouldn’t say Bischoff is a “one-hit wonder.” Yes, the nWo was his most successful angle...but he is also the guy that brought in all the luchadors in the mid-90s and built up the WCW Cruiserweight division.  If there’s one thing I’ll always remember about mid- to late-90s WCW TV, other than the nWo stuff, it’s the

I have not checked out Edge and Christian yet, I will have to do that.  And I’m not saying Tony’s is terrible--I like it, I just don’t like it as much s JR’s.

Goddamnit

I was actually about to make a similar comment, right down to the hospital gown comparison. They are tuuurrrrrrrrible.

I know, I was just being a shit.  I’m aware of the Poe connection.

Yes, yes, I’m aware.  I’M JUST POINTING SOMETHING OUT.

Mmm Hmm, yes, yes, I can see this.

Damn.  I can see that, as well.

One of my staff—who had somehow managed to never see a picture of Silver (she’s a casual fan, roots for the Warriors)—watched the awards the other night and finally saw him. She comes rushing to me the next morning, and screams in my doorway, “OH MY GOD, ADAM SILVER LOOKS LIKE ONE OF THOSE CREATURES FROM THE RINGS

On the topic of the podcasts: JR’s is actually pretty good! It’s fun to hear his views on some of the stuff that happened 20+ years ago, and even about some of the current stuff. Same for Bischoff’s (depending on the topic and whether he can “recall” what happened) and to a lesser extent, Tony Schiavone’s. Prichard’s

I laugh at this, but uncomfortably, because somewhere, there is an NFL front office guy whose brain actually works this way.

I voted Ramcharger, here, mostly because Broncos (and Bronco IIs) were everywhere where I grew up, and seeing a Ramcharger was like seeing a unicorn.

There’s a lot of things to laugh at, here, but that car isn’t one of them.  That is a sweet, sweet ride.

What’s the optimal number of dogs to have?

Neutral: I think the best answer is probably some sort of stringent MPG requirement (that is enforced!) combined with stronger emissions requirements and quite possibly, a higher tax.
