Yeah, if you think the stick is the reason the sedan is dying you need to re-asses the situation. The last gen Acura TL had 306hp, Torque Vectoring AWD (IE: Rear biased) and a 6 speed manual - sold less than 1 % in that configuration. People aren’t buying manuals period, and people aren’t buying sports cars or coupes

Or give people the choice ala Golf R.

I’m not andretti or Hamilton, I don’t need an extra 30 milliseconds off my shifts, I’d rather feel connected to the car and work the gearshift and have a great time joy riding.

The point being made was that an automatic doesn’t automatically equal bad. There is good units out there, the readership here just hasn’t experienced them.

I’ve street driven a 911 with a PDK and the new NSX, both cars had me smiling all the time on public roads. It’s a different experience, not worse.

Again, they’re doing it to honour the heritage of the sports cars from Honda - I get that and I’m not arguing it. When you look around the market though, the stick is disappearing because they don’t sell, DCTs are faster, and you won’t have to worry about earning back R&D time or tooling for a production line that

ILX needs a new chassis before any engine swaps from the factory happen. Manufactures won’t put sticks in cars when a DCT gives better numbers, both performance and fuel economy, and lets more people drive it.

You willing to bet you won’t have fun in a 911 with a PDK, NSX with the DCT, or any other number of sports and supercars that come with DCTs, either as an option or only exclusively? You know Ferrari has no manual cars anymore right?

I guess a lot of super cars and sports cars are no fun then.

Except that transmission isn’t tragic at all - it’s great. It’s not a stick, but it shifts so well, and the T/C helps smooth out slow speed creeping and start/stops. Also, being 8 gears means a better ratio spread and still keeping the low RPM cruising gear for the highways.

They used to have great button layouts that were direct and easy to use, and then everyone complained about all the buttons. They then went to a dual screen setup so you could have a map and still control audio and climate, and everyone complained about there being no buttons. Now they’re slowly rolling out the touch

Hang on....

Oh that makes sense.

My first post on this thread was calling it’s family friendly title “bullshit” until I saw pictures of it loaded up with all that you need when you have a kid. IF you’re not familiar, it’s a fuck load of stuff. Not only that, but you need to keep kids in car seats for

I will second his opinion, as having experience working with used MOPAR products at work (trade ins).

Now it’s 2 against one, Mr. LITERALLYACARFORANAMEJESUSCHRISTCOULDYOUBEMOREBIASED.

The X6 has length for it’s cargo area and more height than a sedan, that’s how it beats those cars. It’s not a small trunk in the grand scheme of trunks, but it’s puny given the vehicles foot print, and the last car type i’d recommend for a family.

I’m not arguing that it’s small, I’m arguing that it’s a stupid family vehicle which is what is being preached above.

Yeah, proving my point that a slanted roof, massive SUV is a stupid vehicle to advertise as a family car. A significantly cheaper, more efficient, normal SUV/Van/Wagon/Hatchback will do the job better.

A case of wine and some assorted cheese,
adorn the hatch of a slope-back SUV.
No children or dogs occupy the back seat,
As the expensive leather comes with pleats.
The tires are thin and the tread is small,
This car was built to crawl the mall.

A GTi is puny with almost no sheet metal after the rear seat, the X6 is fucking massive and wide.

Just sayin’.
