Its actually garbage. The worst thing I’ve seen Berry in.

Part of the problem (for me) is the way ‘performance’ is among the show’s ostensible themes. Pose screams to the rafters that sexual identity is performative or an ‘act’. The trouble is that most of the characters and situations too readily mimic (or play to) caricatures and stereotypes. So I often feel like I’m

It seems as if many critics and viewers (including myself) make allowances for Pose because of its sincerity and/or its bravery in dealing with underrepresented situations and characters.

Now playing

No mention of Andrew Stanton’s remarkable direction? Did we need this for a cue?

I thought the first episode was fantastic, and reject the premise that the show is not made for the people its depicting. If you’re triggered by Euphoria’s depiction of teen life (among other things) you need to get out of your comfort zone and/or question your assumptions about ‘real life.

You could see every twist and turn coming from a mile away. I hope the next season is the last.

What are some prime examples of this burgeoning genre?

That wasn’t sticking the landing, that was a crash landing.

I loved the first episode, but was relatively underwhelmed by the rest of the season. I just couldn’t buy her relationship with the priest, and thought the show’s themes of forgiveness and redemption were labored or too on the nose.

It’s shocking that many Game of Thrones fans continue to believe in (or hope for) a story about heroes and villains or good versus evil. Dany was never a savior - she might have believed that shit to justify her claim to the throne, but audiences should have known better.

The only way she could legitimate her claim was

If Game of Thrones is following George R.R. Martin’s lead, I can see why Martin has spilt so much ink over the years (and so reluctant to bring his tale to a close).

Just watch it. Some sketches are magnificent, others are very ordinary. But everyone’s mileage varies.

Tru dat, but I’m not the one that made Winter the existential threat coming for everyone equally (Martin introduces its imminent arrival at the end of chapter 1, book 1 and it’s noose has been hanging over the throne ever since).

Fantastic episode, and a welcome relief from the show’s recent lapse into over seriousness (earnestness, self importance). I have been watching much of this season on fast forward, but this episode had been fast reversing it again and again.

I’m not sure what Death was supposed to represent other than Death....and it somehow gets defeated by a young girl?

Great episode, great review. Emily rose to the occasion by also lifting her game (of thrones).

You neglected to mention 03 Greedo’s latest again guys

So, what has the final season been like everyone? I’ve put off watching it so far because they’re are so many episodes and (god knows) the quality has been very variable in previous seasons.
