I don't think that's true. I see FF Tactics on the top of the best-sellers list on PSN all the time. I think people are just skeptical about *this* project, for the reasons I listed above.

Good lord those character designs are some of the worst I've seen. What's with the mummy wraps.

You're so far off base its not even funny. Any practitioner of kendo can see the Japanese influence in the original trilogy. Kendo nor iaido teach crazy flips or saber spins due to it being a waste of time and leaving you open for attack.
If you think all that spinning has anything to do with Japanese swordsmanship, I have a bridge to sell you. Also, there is no proof that Eastern sword styles were superior to Western ones. They simply were not abandoned as quickly and completely in favor of firearms. I recommend the documentary "Reclaiming the Blade".
When we finally talk, I'm struck immediately by how much Mercier feels obliged to qualify. Without asking, I learn how she dresses for work and professional events; how she acts in professional contexts; the image she strives to project; her boundaries for friends and friendly acquaintances and colleagues. She also…
I'm just going to start posting this image on stupid comments.
Why is it women's responsibility to "get over it" and not men's responsibility to stop being so creepy and disgusting?
I wonder how that'll be when you have a daughter.
I have to roll my eyes at all the, "but this happens everywhere! Not just in the games industry!" posts, as if that somehow makes everything okay. You're missing the point - it's also happening here and now, and the industry needs to try to better itself. We should better than this. Even if we can't improve how the…
I think I can explain.
Why would you ever think making sexual advances is okay in a professional context?
Now we're going to write about it for two weeks, everybody is going to hammer their righteous thoughtful opinions, then move on and nothing changes.
Did you read the next paragraph? Where it says that Mattingly acknowledged and apologized? If you're saying you don't believe it was him, that's a troubling sign to me that's emblematic of victim-blaming. Now if that's NOT the case and you're calling Mattingly unprofessional and an asshole ... bingo, but it was still…
They are willing. They do speak out. They are speaking out.
Sorry, but you can't write it off. It is easy to say you should, but given the history of women being harassed by men due to their gender, talking about it is always infinitely better than ignoring. If you ignore it, it will happen again, if you talk about it maybe next time someone will think about the repercussion…
If it's happening everywhere, then by that very supposition, this says everything about the gaming community and industry. And just as other industries and communities need to battle this behavior in their own respective groups, we too need to do our part in the gaming community.
Ugh, ok, PSA time.
Alice Mercier isn't the real name of the games industry veteran that reporter Josh Mattingly harassed on Facebook.…
