People are excited, but there’s only so much you can say about a logo. Samus Returns being done by an outside studio AND being a remake of Metroid 2 after AM2R kinda nailed it would also dampen the hype. If anything, people are mostly glad that Metroid isn’t dead.

The first game is one of those games that created a lot of genre conventions, like a scanning mechanic, a type of passive storytelling (accessed through said scanning mechanic), 3D maps, and a UI that was actually the space suit for the character, rather than an overlay for the player.

somewhere at one of the towers, theres a guy who challenges you to see how far you can glide from the tower. This cheat (or one that does the same thing) got me all the way to the other side of the map and out to the sea before I came down.
