Still never played Destiny 1. Got in the alpha, played it, was underwhelmed. When the initial reviews came out, my fears were realized: game was unpolished and, most crucially, required playing with friends to really get the most out of. I have very few friends who game so it left me SOL.

Plenty of knowledgeable, tech-savvy people still acquire iPhones and other Apple products for various legitimate reasons. Fanboys of any stripe annoy the shit out of me, but trying to claim that anyone who buys iPhones or Apple products are “naive and gullible” is such a vast overstatement that it only makes you look

Bitter much? And I say that as an Android user.

A combination of games after my own heart. Haven’t started WotC yet, but playing Mario+Rabbids has been incredible. I finally got around to playing Divinity: Original Sin back in January and man am I glad I did, what a game. Really looking forward to the sequel.

Definitely agree with you on this one. People have to be honest with themselves, even if that sucks for the other person. If you want a relationship and she doesn’t, then you should get out - and it’s easier to get out completely than remain very good friends with the person you want to be dating.

For the first letter writer, I think compartmentalization is going to be key.

I just replayed RDR via backwards compatibility last year, and I had almost forgotten what a great game it was. Getting to play it at a higher res with some nice HD texture packs would be easily worth the price of admission for a PC version.

Yes, absolutely. I was surprised to hear all Australians say “hayche” as I first thought it may have been a personal, idiosyncratic thing instead of a regional thing. Same with Z - we are taught “zee,” not “zed.”

This is just a regional thing. I’m an American but lived in Australia for two years. Every American I know says the letter H as “ayche” and every Australian I know says “hayche.” Not a matter of proper English or correctness, just a difference in regional dialects. Given the convention of using “an” before a word

Three Yakuza games (here in NA) over the course of 13 months? Insanity, even with Kiwami being a remake.

I get where you’re coming from and I don’t begrudge anyone’s appreciation of another character, but Ryuji just annoyed the piss out of me. It comes down to a personal level, where I just really dislike rude and thoughtless people, and rudeness and thoughtlessness is what Ryuji has in spades. He’s certainly not an evil

I haven’t played The Long Dark before, but I’ve certainly found the various videos and articles intriguing. However, given my gaming tendencies and substantial backlog, I tend to never play non-linear, unending games like this either.

Not everyone who smokes is a 17-year old idiot teenager.

I love these sort of articles, which encapsulate a dilemma that any serious fan of gaming has encountered.

As someone who has never played a Dragon Quest game before (other than a few hours of Dragon Quest Builders), which would you recommend starting with?

HowLongtoBeat has it at 21 hours for the main story and 41.5 hours for main+extras. To me, a shorter game is something like Abzû or Portal. I’d say I average maybe 5-8 hours/week total game time, so optimization of that time is key.

My backlog is all-consuming (well, that and my job, volunteer/pro bono work, family, etc.). Very few, if any, games get a second playthrough from me these days. Hell, I’m lucky if I get through 10-15 games per year. I also tend not to go back to games once I’ve moved on from them. My concern is I end up in a Witcher 3

With a backlog several thousand deep, there are at least a couple hundred reasons in there to wait.

This game has been sitting in its steelbook next to my PS4 since release. I’ve been meaning to play it for so long, though now I wonder if I don’t hold out until November and play it alongside the new expansion. Hmm, decisions...
