That sounds exactly like me - I play video games to chill out and relax, not be ultra-competitive. Give me a decent story/characters and some fun gameplay mechanics, and I’m set.

I’ve tried starting various Souls games a solid dozen times now, but just can’t get into them for this exact reason. Too much stress in my daily life and not nearly enough time to game to be willing to sacrifice lots of time to retreading the same path over and over.
True. I definitely don’t “switch” the console to on-TV play, ever. It’s just another portable to me. Admittedly, it’s not super ergonomic for a portable and the battery life is iffy, but I operate in a relatively narrow niche with a half-hour train ride to/from work each day. It’s pretty much perfect for that…
This, times a million. I’ve got enough stress in my daily life, thanks. Not that I don’t enjoy some challenging activities, as I play a decent amount of competitive sports still, but having physical exertion seems to mitigate the frustration levels personally.
Room for one more? First thing I thought as I read this quasi-review was, “well, this is definitely not a game I’ll be playing anytime soon.”
YMMV but I only play my Switch as a portable and probably wouldn’t bother owning it yet if it weren’t portable. It’s a pretty standard and blasé console without the portability.
Have tried a dozen different types of ABS keycaps, none of which could touch PBT. Never used GMK though so can’t comment specifically on those.
Perhaps moreso than finally finding my One True Switch (Cherry Tactile Greys), what most improved my keyboarding experience was the switch from ABS to PBT. A true world of difference when your keys have a nice, hefty thunk and resist that greasy, slippery shine that ABS caps seem to get after about 2 weeks of use.
If it’s called off tomorrow CNN, in full out ratings collapse already, would be bankrupt.
This was my first reaction. Obviously has to trust in the man who legitimately believes in the deep state and its need to oust that outsider hero president! /s
I just skimmed a portion of it but it obviously does a much better job fleshing out some of the facts here. This woman appears to live in an alternate reality.
Please point to the hard evidence in the article. Are you referring to the statement of the developer (aka the counter-party)? Because that is not hard evidence. Hard evidence would be the actual contracts signed by both parties for the work involved, which I certainly don’t see her, or extracted copies of the emails…
I didn’t say she had a bona fide claim against Conatus, or that that was who she should be suing. My point was that the legal system exists to resolve these sorts of disputes, which happen between reasonable individuals and businesses every single day. What isn’t professional, and the portion I take umbrage with, is…
Without hard evidence one way or another, it’s difficult to say definitively whether she is getting screwed or being petty here. Either way, this is probably not a great plan if you want to continue to work in the industry. And maybe she doesn’t, especially if she has legitimately been getting screwed, but you can…
As you may have seen from the other responses, Dragon Age: Origins used a system that seemed to be based on the Gambit system. DA:O is one of my absolute favorite games ever and I loved the freedom the ITTT system allowed.
Damn, well hopefully you enjoy your job enough to make it worth it!
It’s about $1k every calendar day, gross not net. Work as an attorney for a big law firm (1,200+ attorneys). Pay is great but the work/life balance is not. That’s what’s baffling to me about these animation jobs though - low pay AND crazy hours. That’s a rough combination.
Yeah, that is crazy low pay. Admittedly I’m 30+, have a graduate degree, and work in a relatively lucrative industry, but their monthly pay is about what I make every 2 calendar days. I’ve been looking at plenty of job moves that would cut my pay somewhat but it’s hard for me to imagine living well on that kinda pay.
This. So much this.
I’ve seen sites that give scores explain generally what those scores mean. I understand the beef with Metacritic’s influence - huge bonuses depending on obtaining a particular number seems wrong - and the general problem of collating and averaging scores, because not everyone uses the same scale in the same way.…
