Taylor Swift as Tigra confirmed!

Counterpoint: in an absolutely trash movie, Julia poured every last drop of talent into his performance while he was dying.

NEVER FORGET!!

Every single time I see a Dark Matter listing my heart leaps for just a second before my head catches up and I remember the right Dark Matter is long gone and canceled.

I’m not sure that The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen was all that much better.

Raul Julia took that role for his son who was a huge Street Fighter fan. I think it’s a great way for an actor to be remembered.

Hopefully it'll pull a Hi Fi Rush and come over to PS before XBox closes Machine Games too

I’m pretty sure they think it’s “woke” solely because there’s a black actress starring in it and it’s Disney.

suck it, haters. i think so far this show is fire.

You have a fundamental misunderstanding of the prison system, and humanity.

Non-answer masquerading as grievance word salad, check and yaaaaaawn.

I feel like I sense what you wish was in here to some extent, and I’m as white and middle aged as RTD is, so maybe my voice goes to the back of the line. But overall I think it all did a better job telling a story then you felt it did.

I don’t want every episode of DW to be like this. But if they are going to aim for contemporary satire or allegory with a critical eye, I’d prefer it if they swing big and miss than not try at all. And this one landed for me.

You missed the mark on this one, period, James. Everything in the episode is preparing you for that ending if you’re really watching it. Lindy outright rejects the Doctor and only listens to Ruby because she looks similar to the Finetime people. Even when they are giving advice, she is showing disdain to these

I only watched this episode once. I felt a sense of dread throughout much of it, but I was able to compartmentalize it and keep it moving. But, near the end, things got really uncomfortable because I was seeing myself in The Doctor’s shoes.

Agreed. This was a well put together episode that should be taught in screenwriting and film classes.

I’m curious, how many times did you watch this episode?

James, I like your reviews, but honestly, it is like you are the only one writing reviews at io9.  Why not give someone else a crack at it.  It would be interesting to see someone else’s critique of the shows I watch without having to scroll down to the comments.

I’m honestly hoping this is the premise. After Prey, I just want a series of Predator movies where a Yautja is sent to earth to battle famous warriors from history. Predator vs Cowboys, Predator vs Samurai, Predator vs Knights of the Round Table, etc.

With a name like “Badlands”, I’d assume it’s a Predator Western? All the gunslingers get killed off and the “Farmer’s Daughter” takes it out.
